    RTG Jackpots

This is probably a silly question but I really don't know.

You know how when you play an rtg slot game and the progressive jackpot numbers in the upper section are spinning and increasing? Lately I see them frozen and not spinning.

    Anyone know why?

I always thought that the number of people playing a particulair slot would make the RJ count up, as every spin pays a small percentage to the RJ.
So if more people are playing, it will count up faster.

Not so sure anymore if this is true, because when I look in the lobby of Cherry Red, where the actual value of the RJ is visible in the list of games, I noticed that some of them are at exactly the same value.
Not just 2 of them, but 5, 6, or even more.
That would be almost impossible if the above is true, right?
Last weekend I also saw that no less than EIGHT RJ's hit at EXACTLY the same time!
maybe I'm wrong but to me it seems these random jackpots are maybe not so very random...

While your observation is correct there is a reason for it. The RJs at most of these RTGs are grouped. If you visit any Club World casino you will notice in the lobby that all real-series slots are grouped under the same RJ. Naturally, these slots will have the same RJ amounts and they will hit at the same time. Unless there are many players, it makes sense for them to group the RJs because they can grow faster and thus become more attractive. Furthermore, they dont have to seed each and every one of them with the $1K minimum amount for a RJ.
