Mg : please hire COMPETENT translators for your software.

MG's french version of the Viper software is full of typos - usually nothing really important , just incorrect/strange translations - like Famille (Family) for Full on some VP games , or Poker for Five-of-a-kind (again in VP) , etc, etc.

(well, it also quite improved over the last months - but somehow , every slot after Great Galaxy Grab didn't had a french version, strange.)

But this one is quite more important - as somehow , Four of a kind has been translated to "Carré d'As" aka Four of a Kind (Ace) in Bonus Poker Deluxe - really misleading for someone looking at the paytable and thinking that any other Quads would just not pay !

Really, when casino software makers are spending a lot of money to make good softwares , how hard can it be to take some time checking translations ?

I've worked closely with translators in the past and the problem arises when you recruit people who do not have a full understand of the games terms, like imagine someone who has never played Craps trying to translate the various bets available...it's just difficult to put them into context!

Solution is to obviously have management to check over translations but then it's near impossible to find someone who is able to speak the 16 different languages that some places offer to check all of the work, alot of companies will employ 1 single person per language so that the context is kept on every page.

Best thing to do is to tell the Casino about it and you might get some free chips for your time - this is what I'd do anyway...!

    Hi Setsuna,

While the screenshot obviously isn't 32Red - this translation is, of course, network wide.

I have brought this to the attention of our account manager at MG, hopefully he will be able to get it amended.

In the meantime, if you have an account at 32Red, drop me a PM with your account number - there is a €32 chip heading your way for making us aware.

    Thanks
    Mark

Paul > Yes, it can be true for professional translators to translate some game-specific terms . But there , it's clearly a problem of lazyness from the translator , not checking how 4 of a kind has been translated in the other VP games (or just copy/paste wrongly from another VP paytable) to ensure he made a correct translation...
