Aren't they a funny?
9000 coins and one hour of time to play it? I mean c'mon, you can playthrough those 9000 coins on Tomb raider in about 9 or 10 minutes.
I really expected much more playtime (more coins) for this kind of event.

If the number of entrants is low , thus giving an easy chance to cash-in , wouldn't it be better to just bet 1coin/line to mimimize variance as you have one hour to play your spins ?
EDIT : Oh , already 143 entrants as of today - forget what i just said.
heheehe..there will be 9000 entrants and 1 million euros 1st prize...you will need all variance and luck to beat them.
1 line and 5 coins/line maybe?![]()
If the tournament software screws up & keeps lagging or booting you off (as usual), you will NEED that 60 minutes
I expect that by the time it opens for "free" entry, all of the 9000 places will already have been taken.
The current 143 must represent the number of players who were given a free VIP pass from the word go. I got one before I even knew this tournament existed.
It will all be about hoping for a big hit. Tomb Raider is not particularly high variance, and EVERYBODY should be able to play ALL their coins, maybe even have a lunch break half way through.
Using multiple rebuys is probably the winning tactic, and it is likely that this will end with the players with deeper pockets being able to buy their way to the top few positions. The chance of getting that one knock out hit increases considerably if you go through all the rebuys. The top prize of €1M will surely tempt some players to go through as many of the 999 rebuys as they can in the 11 days this runs for.
There are plenty of 2,500 prizes too, and these would be worth aiming for with a few rebuys.
The top prize will probably go to a player who gets the really lucky hit, such as 5 scatters, or 4 wilds in the free spins - or even the Jackpot itself.
I once got the 5 scatters in a Tomb Raider tournament, but it was a horrible waste, the top prize was a mere $60![]()

Yes, I agree. One top hit wil do 5 scatters during free spins are 90,000.
But stiill, I would lean to option of more coins. Firstly, I wist to have more time praying for this big hit. Secondly, even 4 wilds with 10,000 win will be unbeatable for rest of the players as 22,500 coins (initial + 3x continue) could not make up this difference even if the player with 4 wilds have a bad luck for the rest of spins.
More coins would gave a chance to win something even without those hits, would make tha tournament more balanced and IMHO more interesting. Best option in my opinion would be to have more coins you can even spend. This way free spins would not make so great difference and would even up the toutnament even more.
This way, if I see someone hit 30,000+ it would mean tournament is over.
Not necessarily, I once got 4 wilds in a tournament, and it was by no means a walkover.
I find that getting the idols is often better than getting the free spins in the usual formats, since the idols often pay better than the free spins, and take less time. Time is NOT an issue in this final though, so what is needed is a concentrated streak on the relatively few coins available.
It might be worth going for a big start on rebuys, and only then doing the continues.
At least we have over 3 months to work out our tactics![]()

You hope for more coins, so that you have better chances for a big hit but notice that it would mean that other players would have more big hits as well so it wouldn't make winning any easier for you. Actually there could be a tournament where you can do just ONE spin and that's your final score. Such a tournament wouldn't be very exciting though...
Regarding strategy, playing less than 15 lines might be a good idea. If you hit large wins on the lines you include, you'd save coins from those lines you didn't include and those coins could make the difference in the end. TR has quite low variance so I expect quite small differences of win box values in the scoreboard. It has happened to me several times that a difference of 100 or less in final score has resulted in a difference of $100 or more in prize money (one of these happened against vinylweatherman actually).
About large hits, 5 scatters (30 000 win) is probably the one to look for. Like VWM I have also hit it once, it was during $20k Weekender and it boosted me to 1st place. Slotbeaters shows the odds for five scatters as 1 in 150,000, so considering that you can do 120 spins in the first round (maximum bet), even doing all 999 rebuys would not be enough to quarantee hitting 5 scatters (1000 x 120 spins = 120 000 spins total). And most likely it takes more than five scatters to quarantee top position. Five scatters during free spins might be enough to do it.
I don't like the prize structure where $1M (79% of total prize pool) goes to just one player. $100k to top ten players would be better. Who needs to win more than $100k anyway![]()
Hi Jufo
No, I was nat talking about me having more chancec hitting big and therefore winning the tourney. That would be pretty naroew thinking when all of us have same noumber of coins.
I was just talking about having more fun with this tournament by evening up the game with much more coins (more coins and more spins will somewhat balance difference between big hitter and the on who don't) and more actual play time per round also.
