I was just talking about having more fun with this tournament by evening up the game with much more coins (more coins and more spins will somewhat balance difference between big hitter and the on who don't) and more actual play time per round also.
The best way to increase play time and have better shots for a big hit is to do re-buys. They are not free of course so you'll need some bankroll for that.

    A few comments

I believe that it is intentional that you do not have much coins and continues but you can have a lot of rebuys. With the overweighted first prize they want the people to buy a lot of rebuys. If continues could even up the difference, nobody would buy that lot of rebuys, so the tourney would be a massive loss.

Getting the idols frequently is ok in the continue phase, but in the first round they won't be enough for the big break-through. You need free spins and a big hit in the free spins.

If all players would agree not to pay for re-buys, the tournament would have a massive player edge. Unfortunately reaching such consesus between players is impossible to accomplish.

Low coinage in total - yes.
But still, one hour for 9000 coins?? Funny.

Can't have been me, I was booted out half way through the first go, and three spins into my rebuy. I should have ended up FAR higher

I am when ANYONE beats me by a tiny margin. A BIG margin is not so bad. It is particularly maddening to be very close, plenty of coins, but then get a long sequence of naked spins, and ending up STILL a whisker below the score I was chasing.
