Well...
I happened to sell some links tonight and the person (from Canada) wanted to pay with MoneyBookers.
Although I have an account I only use it for instances like this.
About 3 months ago I was paid for some
SEO work via Moneybookers and I withdraw money to my bank account. Which at the time had not be verified. But I was given the option of sending anyway. Which I did.
Well all that went well, got money and all was good.
Login into account today, see that bank account is verfied now due to accepted withdrawal.
Go to send money received to bank account.
Lets me enter amount, confirm birthday details and then..O...no...
I'm then informed that until I confirm my address details with the verification numbers sent to my residential address in 2007...What numbers...What letter?
I can not make the withdrawal of funds...
So...contact support to request a new letter because I can't do that automatically.
Now I have to wait for some letter to arrive from the UK to Australia (only knows how long that will take)...Whilst Moneybookers now has over $1K of my money.
What really eeks me in this situation is that I've confirmed that my bank account is in my name. I've also confirmed that my Visa is in my name also, which btw is also connected to my bank account.
Besides to open a bank account, credit or debit card in Australia you have to supply 100 ID points of Docs - Drivers Licence, Birth certificate, Credit Card(s), passport (if you have one), you get my drift thought right.
If the Australia Government accept that the Bank account I hold is held under my name & I am in fact that person...Then WTF is with Moneybookers?
The only thing I can see is that would benefit Moneybookers by doing this is that any funds forced into this stalemate are used by Moneybookers in the short term money market.
How many other people go through this same scenario at any given time?
I'm sure that would amount to a fair wack of cash in the coffers of Moneybookers.
Not happy Jan
Cheers
