What I Learned From My Two Month Online Break!!!

I havent been around that much in the past couple of months due to moving and was without a computer for that time, except for the public library.

When ever i would go to the library to check emails and such, i wouldnt stay long as i was drawn to the wonders of the many books and the amount of young children being read to, it made me wonder about us, as a growing internet race of people and where we are headed for in the future.

There is something special about sitting down with a good book and feeling the pages with your fingers, wondering whats awaits you on the next page instead of clicking on a link and reading it off a screen, guess im old fashioned or just forgot the joys of a good book.

I didnt think i could go without gambling for a period of time and found out i could, it wouldnt have been that hard for me to get on a computer and gamble but i stuck it out and found that life has so much more to offer than being online everyday.

My plan is to make everyday count for something and gamble only when i want to, but most of all enjoy life and all the pleasures that exist here in the real world..............................laurie

I agree, some people ask "why do you pay for the newspaper when you can read it online" there is just a different feeling curled up in your favorite spot with a coffee in one hand and a book or newspaper in the other.

Laurie that is good to hear

Life is definately too short and it takes awhile for most of us to realize this.
Even still, its great to have you back amongst your friends and you were missed when you were absent

Welcome back! I am an avid reader and have always told my children and grandchildren that you can go any place in the world through a book. I'm glad to hear you have a positive outlook on your life now, there are so many who can't overcome some of lifes' trials. And thank you for sharing with us!

Glad things went well, Laurie!

I took a 13 mo. break when the NETeller mess happened, and surprisingly, didn't miss playing online as much as I thought I would. Even now... I only play occasionally, and as my ewallet is empty, I haven't even loaded my prepay card. I probably will one day, but *shrug* I haven't thought about it till now, and probably won't load it anytime soon.

Real life takes a lot of my time, anyway, and a lot of whatever spare time I have, I spend fooling around with graphics software and scrapbooking graphics. There are always other things to do besides gamble -- especially when my $25 - $50 deposits only last 5 minutes. That's not "fun". And if it ain't fun, I ain't giving them my money. LOL
