    I love the Thanks button...

but wouldn't a "shut the hell up" button also be a useful tool for slamming stupid posts without actually replying? Or is there such a thing and I just have not yet discovered it yet? Cheers.. and apologies if I'M being dumb now....

I am curious as to what you would consider "dumb" posts...My interest has been piqued..

What constitutes a "dumb" post? I believe, as this is a free forum, that each member has a right to post what they wish. You could try using the ignore function, which wouldn't be quite as offensive as using a "shut the hell up" reply.

I can see the use for a 'Shut the Hell Up' button, if a good thread is being derailed or someone is flaming then 10 or 20 'Stfu' would let people know the strength of feeling against it.

Good Idea but we need not go to such extremes. Presently, we can give negative rep points. Maybe a YAWN or BOO button will suffice.

There are plenty of times I've considered a "STFU" button but I don't think that would go over too well some of the members - and some members would be wearing it out.

There is a plugin that is the opposite of the Thanks button, called a Post "Groan" plugin. But I've modified this to the "Way to Go" button so I can't really use it as it was intended.

Personally, I'd rather have the "groan" button than the WTG!

Especially in the SS that sucks thread.....why should we get a WTG! if we post in there?

Yeah, I've been getting my share lately. Don't know why, I'm such a lovable person.

Makes no difference to me...if someone doesn't agree with me, that's their prerogative. Neg rep away.

I like the idea of a "Groan" or "STFU" button. And don't tell me there isn't times you guys would love to use that.....not on me of course. Ha ha....
