I haven't figured that one out myself yet. Hope some of the pro's will share their insight, if they aren't afraid of us low rollers! This appears in both "Game On" and "Lucky Barstard".

I mostly play the fruities at 10 to 25 cents...A small deposit will keep me amused for quite a while, and I find it much more interactive than just hitting the spin button.

It also happens in Treasure Ireland...

In You Lucky Barstard, when the reels flash you are meant to hold them in the order they flash. The screen then tells you to press cancel, so do that, and hey presto, in rolls the feature.

I presume it works the same for the others? Haven't played Game On though so don't quote me on it.

Many of the traditional cheats, such as 3 holds & win, spin after hudges if holds available with 2 of same etc DO NOT WORK with the MGS Fruities. This may be because it is just too obviously non-random for non-UK players to accept as a fair game. The "pot" theory of pub Fruit Machines does hold though. I have extensively studied Treasure Ireland, and the really BIG wins are when a random and LARGE amount is deposited into the accumulating "pot" from outside. Conversely, it can take money in, and refusing wins may NOT add more to the "pot", but to the more general "pot" that feeds these extra cash injections for OTHER players. In this sense, the big wins are really a case of right slot, right time.

On Treasure Ireland, there are some signs that are seen when more money is being fed into the feature pot. The following are dead giveaways of an extra big win, similar to the ones I have posted.

Reel features, such as nudge, "hold me", and "shifta" offer the larger wins, such as 20x, and particularly 40x and 80x.

Before I hit one monster win, I was suddenly offered 3 ships with nudges. I refused it, and three times it was offered on the next spin. Then, it just spun in 3 parrots twice on the trot, and THEN 3 ships not long after. A little after this, it became clear there had also been a HUGE "pot fill", and it went TI with little effort.
Sometimes, you get no signs, such as the 10K from Prime, where I was playing £2 and it bypassed 30 spins and offered 50 spins straight away. I took it, and found that a MASSIVE pot fill had boosted the payout from around 200x to 250x to an impressive 5000x. The pot boost was so big that the next feature added the extra 3K payout, still on £2.

These are far from "mindless entertainment", however, if you mess things up, they will usually offer the win back to you again & again, whereas in a truly random slot, but with an element of choice, a win refused is lost "forever".

UK players like myself have a SERIOUS advantage, in my case some 40 YEARS of experience of the real thing, even though less than 3 years of the online version. I do not really need to read the rules, I can work out how to play these by a quick session of "suck it & see".

I look forward to MGS introducing more of these, and adding the others from Flash to Viper.

I do NOT believe the payout is the 70% of the real thing though, it seems nearer to the 95% average expected generally for slots - but the way this 95% is achieved can make the payout look MUCH lower for much of the time, just like the real thing.

After reading this thread I deceided to give "Game On" a try. I took into consideration the tips that you all wrote about. I was betting 50c a spin and almost immediately I hit the bonus round.

I hit "stop" and it landed on 100x. Got the bonus again after a few more spins, won 75x my bet. Got it again, landed on 75x bet and again for 50x.

After that I upped my bet to $1.00 and never hit a bonus again. I had to have won $250 and played it all back.

Is this common on these games?

yes, they are very very streaky and its important to quit on time because usually after a few good features, there is a long sequence of dead spins. I don't play all of them but the games i have experience with, are same as what you described.

Just like the real thing, you have to play these games a fair bit to learn all their subtle ways. Reading the rules is not enough. The key to these games is that you are offered GENUINE choices, whereas with the normal slot it just happens.

The more I play Treasure Ireland, the more I learn how these games work through their cycles. I have experimented with many different tactics to see which is the best thing to take. I have found 30 and 50 win spins can be worth taking, especially if offered out of the blue from an otherwise dead session. If you have already taken 50 spins, or the TI, try immediately dropping the bet & playing for the feature again, since you may get a "mopping up" offer, such as 9 win spins, or win series.

When you have sucked ALL the value from the pot, it tells you loud & clear. Feature - 6 or 12 - lose ( either direct, or continue/no). The game will normally start playing like this if you have never played before.
