A question for a RTG rep

    its regarding the faxback form,

what is the difference between a digital signiture and one signed with a pen,?
by digital signiture i mean using the paint application and signing it with your mouse
instead of a pen, only ive tried to get my account verified at several casino's
before i make a deposit and in a replies to emails i have sent i get this

In order to verify your account, we require the faxback form,
which can be found under the 'banking' section of our website.
This needs to be printed off and signed by hand at the bottom of the page.

why printed off and signed by hand?

say i print it off and sign it by hand, scan it then send it back
doesnt it turn into a digital signiture?,

also why do we need to fill one out when using an ewallet like neteller,
i thought they were only needed for credit/debit cards to show the deposit was authourised and stop any charge backs,

to me it just seems pointless maybe a rep can clarify why this is done

    thanks
    I gave up gambling,
Now all i ever do is make mind bets,
You never bet any real money you only bet in your mind.
The results are fairly good, ive only lost my mind 5 times so far this month

I don't know what is the reason behind this but i find RTG casinos particularly picky about faxback form and documents.
I use click2pay to deposit and I was paid many times by Rival and MG without
    any additional verification.
    Who took my money ??

instead of a pen, only ive tried to get my account verified at several casino's
before i make a deposit and in a replies to emails i have sent i get this
The idea is to make the signed document as official and clear as possible, as it is a form that verifies all of the deposits made at the casino. Signatures signed on paint are sometimes not the most official looking things! - Looks like a child's scribble!

also why do we need to fill one out when using an ewallet like neteller,
i thought they were only needed for credit/debit cards to show the deposit was authourised and stop any charge backs,
This is for a couple of reasons. First of all, you may use an e-wallet account to deposit with first and then switch to using a credit card at a later date. Therefore, this form states that you verify all deposits you make both in the past and future at the casino. Also, regardless of which method you use and whether you can make a chargeback or not - This form is still needed as a verification for both deposits and withdrawals - So the player is who s/he says s/he is.

    Hope that answers your questions

    Thanks,

I am sorry to get at you, but this topic is something I do feel strongly about and causes me much consternation.

But... well...er.. a signature can look like anything you want it to. Due to problems I sometimes have holding a pen, my signature can look like a child's scribble and that is allowed, I find my bank accepts it, any forms I have to sign accept it, so why can't a casino. It is a person's right to make their signature whatever they want it to be, there is no law stating it has to be neat or official looking.

For me, it is hell to send a faxback form, a mission, and whenever this is requested of me, I get depressed and feel a bit discriminated against, as noone in support ever seems to help with this or relax the rules, they are like cold robots.

I do not own a printer or a fax machine. To sign a faxback form. I have to struggle to my library, book some time on their computer, pay money to use their printer, struggle back home, sign it, photograph it so the whole document is visible in the photograph (which isn't easy to do at all, getting the whole document to fit in the picture and remain clear is near impossible. It often requires many attempts to get it right.) Then transfer the jpeg to my computer, and email it back. Then await confirmation that it is acceptable, praying someone doesn't write back and insist it needs to be done again or faxed. The whole process is very frustrating and difficult for someone like me. And to be honest it really has put me off joining anymore RTG casinos. If I see that I need to do this in a casinos terms and conditions I go elsewhere. I wonder if there are other players who don't bother joining casnos because of this.

Why do I gamble if I can't afford a printer? Well at the moment, I don't really have much of a life, I don't go out much, sometimes can't get out of bed, I find online gambling is perfect to take my mind off things, a way to escape. Maybe it isn't right to do this in some people's eyes, but I don't care, it is a person's right to have fun and escape if they want. I am a low roller, play with small amounts for fun, if I win it is great, if I lose I still have enough money to pay the bills. As long as I don't give in to the temptation to up my bets, I can afford to gamble. I have generally found with all the long term monthly wins/losses I usually end up breaking even. So I find generally at the moment it isn't harmful. In the past this has been a different matter though...

Back to the topic. I don't think a handwritten signature is a good way of verifying a person. I mean anyone clever enough could forge someone elses signature. I used to do it when I was a kid and wanted to scive off school. I would forge my mum's signature on a sick note I had written myself and get the day off.

I don't think a fraudster would need to worry about forging another person's signature anyway, as most places probably don't know what your signature looks like and don't verify if it is correct. If there is a way to check someones signature on a secret central database of the entire world's signatures, I doubt anyone can be bothered to check, or has access to it.... so I don't think sending back a faxback form really proves anything. I know casino's want to appear like they're doing something to combat fraud, but this doesn't really combat anything except perhaps new players signing up and casinos processing payouts...

I'm not sure I understand this. Surely if I later switched to depositing using a credit/debit card, wouldn't I be required to send in another faxback form to verify the new deposit method I am using. If not, then the whole faxback process is pointless and absurd, for I could at first deposit using a genuine method then later switch to a stolen card and not be asked to sign anything.

And also if I am required to fill in a new faxback form when I deposit later on using a card, then it makes the above statement a bit weak...

But isn't that why neteller has a secure I.D. Something only the person who registered the neteller account knows. Doesn't entering your secure I.d. at time of deposit, verify your identity? A bit like entering your card pin number when you pay for shopping in a supermarket. If the person enters the wrong secure I.D. the transaction is denied.

Another thing, neteller email you everytime you make a transaction, like paypal do, so if by some chance someone did know my secure I.D. and deposited at a casino. I would be immediately alerted by email and be pretty much able to take action straight away, depending on neteller customer support queues. Unlike debit/credit card transactions which can take upto 4 working days to appear on a statement... neteller transactions are instant.

I really don't think that having to send in a faxback form for a neteller deposit is necessary. I really think RTG casinos should relax a little on this rule and stop being so regimental and heavy.

Talking from the perspective of someone who is tortured by this process, couldn't there be a way to bend the rules a little for people like me. Alternative ways to prove I am who I am... can casinos not be a bit more imaginative about the whole thing, be more player friendly. It may not seem a big deal to some folk, but to me it is an ordeal and something I have a real problem with when it comes to online casinos.

I understand that I don't make the rules and if I don't like them then it's tough etc.

But I can vote with my feet. And my feet at this time are telling me to play at microgaming and cryptologic casinos who are far less intense when it comes to I.D. checks...

    Thanks for your comments funky_seagull.

I can only recommend that players ask all the questions they like before making a deposit at the casino and can then ascertain whether they will be able to send the faxback and documents and are prepared to do so. Of course, we understand people's concerns so certain sensitive information can be blocked out when sending copies to us. For example, if a player is sending a copy of their credit card, they can leave just the first 6 and last 4 digits visible and block out the rest. The security code on the back of the card can be blocked out completely.

Unfortunately, no exceptions can be made and we therefore require this information to be sent from each and every player either at time of first withdrawal request / prior to / and in cases where the fraud department may be concerned that potential fraud is being carried out. I've seen a lot of people mention that they keep a file available on their computer which contains all of their scanned documents such as ID/credit cards/utility bill. I'm sure that makes it a lot easier and faster if you are planning to play at other casinos in the future.

Sorry that the baddies affect the goodies

    Thanks,

    Louise
