MG casino strange card charge policy

    Hi there,

Just a quick one. I made a deposit with my debit card at MG casino, lets say for 90 GBP. but on my online banking it came up as 89.99 GBP. Another one for 70 GBp, same story - 69.99 GBP charged. Has anyone seen this so far? any explanations? Thanks

All the time at MG, the verified by visa gives you a penny credit or in your case 1 GBP.

Also I think they might do it so the transactions look a little less like a gambling purchase. As if you bought a shirt or something.

Yes very common. I think Bally's answer is closer to the real purpose.

Why for someone in LONDON though

I use verified by VISA with 32Red, and I get debited the whole amount, not with a penny less, so this explanation may not be true. It's only a penny, and it goes the player's way. It might even be a way of avoiding the transaction being seen as a "cash advance", an increasing problem with UK credit cards and gambling transactions.
