I'm curious if these relatively new games were re-named at the RTG Casinos because of copyright infringement issues based on the original names ? Could an RTG Rep please chime in here and give us the scoop on this....

King Tuts Treasure: Boy King Treasure
Phantom of the Opera: Haunted Opera
Pinocchio: Wooden Boy
Rapunzel: Roberta's Castle

Has to be IMO. Although the first one is a little more odd. If they say it wasn't then keep an eye on the rep's nose!

How does one copyright the names of an ancient Egyptian king and the heroine of a very old fairy tale? I would think "Tut" and "Rapunzel" would be waaaay into public domain territory.

But only some RTG's have changed the names. I can't imagine that you could copyright King Tut, but would not surprise me if Disney owned a copyright on Pinnochio. But why would name change not be RTG wide if this was the case?

Hi,
As Pina says I replied to this in a different thread. I believe the reason may have been copyright issues yes.

As you say I am not sure how you copyright a name. However if it is being used in conjunction with images of a girl with long golden hair then I am sure those involved with the estate of the Brothers Grimm might want a piece of the action :)

Just my thoughts, not sure if anyone was actually contacted maybe it was just a precaution.

Why they have changed at some casinos and not others may have to do with who has the upgrade in place yet.

Best Regards
