Purging the soul!

This has been my first year gambling with online casinos and what a crazy year it has been, but now is the time to quit while I'm ahead. I just finished uninstalling all the casinos (exept pokerstars). I have made around �3000 in deposits and made round about �12000 which is fantastic and i am truly happy with that result. the straw that broke the camels back was when i was playing an RTG (accredited) and i managed to get my balance up to $2000 or round about then pressed the cash out button. one day later i had a drink or two and was in the mood for gambling. i then proceeded to just splurge the lot. it was so weird it was like i was glued to the monitor. i could hear the voice in my head saying "stop" and it was disturbing because it was almost like i was possessed. when the money had gone i felt almost hollow inside and in shear disbelieve that i had actually done that. i now realize that i have become an addict. you don't have to be a addiction specialist to work it out because its due to the lack of self control. like i said before i have still got poker stars on there but i will be keeping a close eye on that too. if this behavior resurfaces again then that's got to go as well, which would be a shame. anyway just thought i would share that with you guys.

Kudos to you for your honesty! When I first started reading your post, I thought 'right on buddy' then read on and became sad for you. I am sorry that happened to you. It sucks when your up that high and lose it all. Those damn machines 'know' how to keep you rolling! And you 'never' 'ever' think you will lose it all, especially when you have nice hefty chunk in your credit box. You mentioned you had a few? Did that have anything to do with your not getting out? Or was it just the pulling in? Just wondering as I quit drinking alcohol a few years ago, I would be 'deadly' if I drank and gamed! And, I wasn't a nice drinker either, the Irish/Indian came out more frequent then not. I am not judging you at all, it seems like you got ahold of it. Please try not to feel too bad, 'although it's hard not to' remember we have 'all been there' too! Wishing you the best of luck with anything and everything you decide to do from here on out!

Similar thing happened to me, i was not drinking but it was some sort of sabotage because the casino denied my withdrawal while every one else was approved in a matter of minutes and then it turned out they never received my fax back email.

I know exactly how you feel, I hate myself for that. I only was gambling for a few months but feel sick giving my money away at times.

Mmmm - interesting isn't it - the way they have the physcology of the 'ordinary, every-day gamer' worked out. Perhaps that's why there's always that option to re-credit your account even after you've cashed out.

I remember the fitrst time I played at a MG casino. I won a �200 bonus from the one-hour free offer, just had to deposit �20 to claim it. I went on a fantastic run of luck and got my account up to over �7,000 playing slots before hitting cash-out button. I left it a little while, went back in to see if it had been credited, only to discover the re-credit option. Over the next few hours I 're-credited' �800 before I snapped out of it and realised I was in danger of losing it all, so I stopped.

Having said that, I have done it again since - won, cashed-out but then recredited, losing the whole of my cash-out amount in the process. Of course, you suffer the 'self-hatred' for the next few days after you've done this. Some people obviously have the self discipline to not do it, sadly I'm not one of those people.

The only way I've been able to avoid doing it again is to give one of my friend's (whom I can and do trust) the password to my account, he then goes into my account, changes the log-in password and only tells me what the new password is after the cash-out has gone through. Having said that, it is good that cash-outs are prossesed quicker these days.
