    MG Level Up VP question

I was looking at this game today and at the bottom of the paytable it says Autocomplete Royal Flush 100 credits.

    What does that mean?

I looked at the help section and it means that you get a consolation prize if you don't reach higher levels and you would have been dealt Royal flush there. If you reach higher levels and get Royal flush, you are paid normally (4000 coins). So basically it is a payout for a hand that you didn't get to play.

I played this for a bit, and it doesn't even DEAL a starting hand at the next level UNLESS you get either a win or "free ride" on the one below - therefore I still don't understand what this is about

I thought it might be that the RF on levels 2-4 only pays 100 coins x level multiplier instead of 4000 coins x level multiplier. Getting a RF on the top level would pay a whopping 4000x8 or 24000 coins for a 20 coin total bet
Admittedly, you also pay the stake for each level you do not get to play, and this would make up for this.

Perhaps all initial hands are dealt by the RNG at the start, but are only revealed when the level is reached. In the unlikely event of a pat RF being dealt, but not reached, 100 coins x level multiplier is paid, but we would have a hell of a wait to see this. With the cards not displayed anyway, we would have to trust that in this unlikely event the game would show the RF and consolation payment.

I can see the cards at the levels I didn't reach They are bit dim but visible to me. Try other glasses

Notice also that this JoB requires slightly different strategies for each level as you should increase the chances of getting to the next level. For example at the bottom level you should keep two high cards over a low pair.

Anyone knows what the free ride probability is because it would enable calculating the house edge?

OK - I'll have another look, it was dark

Even so, surely they only get dealt, I have not seen any go to "draw" until the level is revealed and I can see the cards.

If it ever happens to me I put it in the "Screenshots that suck" section.
On the highest payline it is only 800 coins instead of a possible 32000.
IMHO a very poor consolation prize.

I had a long session last night. At first, using my normal 320 bet for 4-Hand VP, I went from around £1300 to nearly £3000, and this was because I was hitting in levels 3 and 4. The highest hand I got in level 4 was a full house, which pays almost £400.
I then found progression far harder, and eventually was taken back to around my £1300 starting point.

It is disappointing that the RF only pays 4000 coins rather than the amount for the level multiplier. As there is no "expert mode", I would conclude this to be a low house edge game, and I eagerly await the write-up from the wizard
It might even be there as a generality, even if not for MG in particular.

I have seen the other cards, they display only AFTER you have been knocked out from a lower level, pity - there would be a tactical advantage in knowing what awaits if you progress in terms of the strategy variations that are designed to maximise level progression at the expense of the best payout for the hand being played.

I think that the Royal Flush pays normal payout for that level. With 10$ total bet size, it would pay 16 000$ at level 4, which is 1600x total bet size.

Yesterday I hit RF at level 2 in free play mode and it paid 4000$ for 10$ total bet like it should.

Wizard Of Odds DOES have an article about this kind of game, known as Multi-Strike Video Poker:

    General:
    http://wizardofodds.com/multistrike

    Jacks or Better:
    http://wizardofodds.com/multistrike/appendix2.html

If Microgaming uses the same free ride probabilities as in the article, then this game has a return 99.79% with optimal strategy, and this even ignores the effect of consolation prize. Therefore this game probably has better payout than regural Jacks or Better. Notice that the optimal return requires adapted strategy for each level.
