    A question about payouts

Can someone tell me about how the slots payout please , ive been interested for a long time now , ive tried to find a post about it , but failed !

So basicly how do slots payout ? .....

Are the slots linked throughtout many casino's ? eg - if i played "Moonshine" at Ladbrokes , then went on it at 32red are they the same machine ? ( i think progressive slots are linked , like mega moolah )

If i played a machine today then left it until tommorrow , ive noticed that the reels will be in the same position from when i left it , ie is it my own machine ?

If i won the jackpot on a machine , and then kept playing it can you win another jackpot again within minutes ?

Is each spin a random number , so that a certain number of a spin is a jackpot and you just have to be lucky and spin it on that number at a certain time ? eg if a machine's 2 millionth spin is a jackpot , and then a jackpot at the 3 millionth spin ? somthing like that ?

Sorry if i havent explained it clearly , its quite difficult to explain :-)

    Cheers

Whenever you sit at a slot machine the spin is (conspiracy theories aside) entirely random. It is in effect 'your' machine and the play of others does not effect you.

Progressives are effected in that all machines are linked up to a prize fund, but that is all, money from everybody's bet goes in to the pot regardless of which casino they come from. Each game round is independent and yes, if you were very very lucky you could hit the jackpot again, in theory (much less likely in all probability due to the chances of hitting it in the first place).

The games are essentially the same whichever casino you play at but it is not the same machine that you are playing on when you go to a different casino. The thing to remember is that it does not matter about past spins, the chances on a fair game are the same for each game round, so even if it were the same game, it would not effect your chances of winning. If a jackpot is a million - 1 chance, it will always be a million - 1 chance, despite how long you have been playing it for.

Add to that I was told that each Microgaming licencee has a seperate installation of the software, so progressive jackpots aside (they are all linked), each game runs off a different version of the RNG. But that said, the definition of an RNG ("Random number generator") alone would mean it doesn't really matter if all the numbers come from the same place.

RTG progressive jackpots are different. Some are centralised and the same across all casinos while others are "local" (some of the "Real series" slots jackpots for example).

But like Digital says, if you believe the RNG's are truly random, it doesn't really matter where they come from. If you don't think they are random, then join the ranks of conspiracy theorists who no doubt don't play online anymore

Why do you jump to such an easy conclusion?
Am I some idiot if I don't believe in RNG and continue to play?
How can you prove that they use RNG, and how did you measure it?
Are you sure that they don't use PRNG (P= pseudo) for example.

If all people who don't believe in RNG stop gambling, the online industry would have a big problem.
How many people continue smoking although they know it is bad for their health?
