Has anyone been afflicted?

Im just wondering. I used to work for a reputable bank. I transfered to their credit card department. I dealt with several fraud transactions. At the time, their system was pretty poor and needed a major overhaul.

Now with online sites, it becomes easier to abuse. With all the rogued sites out there. Can you confidently say you trust them? I am fairly confident with the larger companies but I dont share that with the smaller ones

In the past, I have been asked to confirm my identity in ways I feel is open to abuse. I have refused.

When you are asked to scan the front and back of your credit card, dont do it.

Make sure you blot out the numbers on both sides, if you must. That is not much of an ID process.

The fraud is unlikely to come from the site but will manifest itself in other forms. I was just wondering because it makes me cringe.

Yipes! I'm fairly certain that it's illegal to ask for that in the US. Of course, so's online gambling, so... go figure.

The requests for ID are a real problem, which is one reason why a lot of people I know will only gamble at B&M casinos.

The more I read here, the less I want to make deposits.

I am happy with my use of a prepaid credit card for online use. Currently all they could purchase is less than $4.00.

I was affected once, I suspect it was skimming (pre - chip & pin).

I have sometimes been asked to confirm my ID in ways that could be open to abuse, but by MY BANK, and yes, it really WAS my bank!!!

Scans of credit cards are now the norm for online casinos, and eCogra AGREE that this is a justified request by online casinos, and the only way this can be changed is if the banks make an OFFICIAL complaint to eCogra and the UK and EU gambling authorities that casinos MUST NOT request this - if the banks get off their collective a***s, this can be done.
It is no good banks advising customers what not to do if officialdom say it must be done, and are not challenged by someone with more clout than them.

Confirmation of ID, and the fact that the card is in that same name, should be enough to confirm that the card is not stolen. The "verified by VISA" and "mastercard secure" schemes should also make confirmation of card details to casinos unnecessary, as the card would not work if used by someone who had simply stolen it. Banks could enforce this by stating that they will refuse all such transactions unless the casinos' processors sign up to these schemes, and this would give the casinos no choice but to use the schemes if they want to continue to take deposits via cards.

If the FSA/EU make it ILLEGAL to request card images, then EU licenced & UK whitelisted casinos would have to stop asking for them, and this would then force others to follow suit or be seen as less secure in the eyes of the player community.

I have found that some casinos will reject images with the centre numbers and security code blocked out as "unreadable", and ask for it to be resent again and again, or they won't pay.

Well i use my visa but i dont have that high of a limit and i made sure the bank wont allow a transaction over that limit so im ok that way. Instadebit is from my one bank account and i transfer money to that from my private account so i do that as im depositing so there would be 0 for them to get at. click2pay moneybookers and ewallet i just deposit and move money over to them as needed if i have more then 400 dollars back from a casino i deposit into few casinos and ask for a chq back that takes few days to get week or so to clear.
Click2pay has a debit card now that you can go to a atm and take your cash out. But yes if all the info falls into the wrong hands its lights out for a few seen it before with clients i work with and its hell to get our rep back, your credit rating vanishes and our integrity with it.
