    MG flash casino & firefox

I am surprised that I can open Canbet instant flash casino by firefox, but can't open other MG flash casinos by ff.

Canbet flash casino is customized and special?

If it is down to a plugin, then either ALL MG Flash casinos would work, or none would. Maybe Canbet have customised theirs such that it works with Firefox, perhaps by removing requirements for loading it that are not supported by Firefox.

Flash itself should work with Firefox, BUT ActiveX does NOT. ActiveX might be the problem, not Flash. Most MG Flash casinos have an ActiveX control that runs at launch, and asks if you want to save the link to your desktop - a few don't do this though.

There is a third party plugin for Firefox that enables it to support ActiveX, and this, and/or a little tweaking should get most or all MG Flash casinos working with it.

MG casinos are written to work with IE, and the download version uses IE as a plugin to display the content of the "home" option on the menu, as well as some of the others, such as "news" and "my promotions".

There are quite a few things that I find CRASH my IE, and ONLY work under Firefox, and this seems to be due to a permanent error with the Flash plug-in for IE 6, and is not fixable as far as I can see. This only affects this old PC, as under XP and beyond, IE 7 can be used.

firefox is so wicked. can't believe i never ran it sooner. minifox theme and tiny menu are the best add-ons, you won't believe the screen real estate when you put everything on one line and uncheck the bookmarks and nav lines, plus minifox cuts off the margins at above and below button icons. wait let me show you what i have, vertically only the width of my thumb on my 1280x800 15.4". and it does loads of wonders to improve the readability of websites on my 800x480 7" eeepc.

ie tab would work good, but that still requires to actually incorporate ie's own program files right? ie (that is to say) do you still run ie (internet explorer) in the background when you use an ie tab in ff?

    and everything should work on firefox. i mean to say this to web developers. let's kill microsoft's browser already, make it work in ff, don't be lazy. there are tools.. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . ¡¡¡Gates blows Goats!!! . . . . . .

isn't there a browser which can emulate any other major browser? or is it the same like what ie tab does and you actually need to have the browser you're "viewing as" in the parent browser? am i making any sense?

    Hi vinylweatherman,

Do you know which ones don't ask for the Active X control ?

It's strange to see the RTG instant flash games on this Casnbet page:

I've been using firefox for a few years now. It's such a better browser. I *HATE* having to do things in IE, but a lot of casinos require it.

Most do, they WANT you to save an easy launch link on the desktop.
I believe it was Firefox that was FIRST with tabbed browsing, with IE 7 nicking the idea.

The downside with Firefox is that so many websites are written and tested with IE, and not necessarily with the other browsers. IE, being the most common, is the most attacked browser when it comes to malware.

Microsoft have cemented their monopoly by not adhering to some of the agreed HTML standards, which leaves IE in a dominant position as web developers have to write non-standard pages to work with some IE functions.
IE is also written to work seamlessly with Windows, and Microsoft secrecy inhibits other browsers from being coded to work so intimately with Windows.

I have seen others post that it is possible to get MG casinos to work under Linux/Obuntu by using a Windows emulator, and that there is such an emulator with the MAC.

don't quote me, but i'm relatively certain i saw a tool or site that you can put your site code into and see how it will appear within each browser (ie,ff,opera, etc) not sure if casinos could make use of this, or if the program actually helps identify how to debug the screwy bits.

and yes ms nicked ff's tabs. for the same reason a dog licks its bollocks.
