    PlayCherry = 50% Netent+ 50% Wagerworks

The Cherry group is the Swedish land based operator who owns the casino software Netent (ex Net Entertainment).
Untill today, they've left to Betsson the right to use their brand online with CherryCasino.com.
To be honest I don't know the exact relationship between the Cherry group and Betsson.
The fact is that they have lauched recently their own casino, powered by Netent, which is quite logical, but they've added Wagerworks games throught their RGS solution.
RGS allows an operator to integrate Wagerwoks game to his current platform on a very simple way (see the RGS page on Wagerworks website for technical details).
I found it quiet interesting to see the first RGS powered casino (even if Wagerworks games are a secondary choise because the platform, which means the backoffice is Netent) because I've read a lot about this solution months ago and I thought that Wagerworks, which is to me one of the best no download casino software (Netent is very good to), did a very smart move allowing operators to intergate their games in their existing platform.

The Playcherry.com initiative is a very interesting and innovative development through which Cherryforetagen has been able to leverage its extensive land and cruise liner gaming experience by making online gaming available (in international waters) to the estimated 25 million passengers who use cruise liners every year. They're being partnered by Entraction (formerly24hpoker) in this. (See Casinomeister News btw)

Entraction (then 24hpoker) signed an rgs Wagerworks deal back in August last year, so these are probably the games being used.

Cherryforetagen, Betsson and Net Entertainment were split up into seperate business units last year or maybe even earlier than that, although I suspect that shareholders are little changed.

Two Way Gaming, an interactive television operation has also introduced the WW rgs games recently, as did Gala Coral so it looks as if the rgs concept is catching on due to its flexibility and ease of implementation.

    U got it right

Jetset, thanks for claryfying the Cherry/Betsson/NetEnt relations.
    You are quite right.
The businesses were split up last year, so we are now three entirely separate companies.

I'm the Casino Manager for PlayCherry.com.
"Coincidentally", I have previously worked for both NetEnt and Betsson. I guess I just had to work a while for Cherry too, since it was the only one of these companies I hadn't worked for!!! It's a bit ironic that Cherry who was spun off from the other companies as the only company not working online, is now going online.

Anyway, we hope to attract players who will appreciate the kind of stability and trust that comes with a company with 44 years of operations history. It'll be interesting to see how it works out.

The "choice" of NetEnt is also merely coincidental since our choice was Entraction (24H) and NetEnt came with their package.

Take care and see you around the forum in the future.

Just wondering why UK players are basically unwelcome
The Bonus offers do not apply for players residing in Australia, Denmark, United Kingdom, China or Israel.

I'd imagine due to a disproportionate # of bonus abusers that must have slammed them awhile ago from the UK. Else, it makes little sense.

I dont think they have been around long, so find that hard to believe as being the reason

Cherry is the founder of Netent and owned it untill last year if I understood John said.
I imagine that, as John himself, most of the people working for PlayCherry are coming from Netent or Betsson (CherryCasino and CasinoEuro) so we can assume that they have been in the business for a long time.
And as stated on PlayCherry's website about us page, Cherry is "a company with more than 40 years of gaming experience. Listed on the Swedish Stock Exchange, Cherry has more than 200 casino licenses and over 700 employees. Cherry operates casino games on more than 50 ships in the Baltic and Mediterranean seas. "
