That and a host of other problems I've had with tournies is the reason I believe MG just can't (or won't) deal with the mutiple alias problem.
.....yet the certainly found the time to F*** with the server and make the tournaments not worth playing from "barely worth playing".

The news that they just don't care about players using 2, 3, or more aliases in freerolls just further undermines the system.

Maybe, despite the obvious sub 50% payouts, they are STILL not making money because many of the players registered are duplicates of far fewer, and they don't pay, but hope for a lucky hit in the first free rounds with many aliases.

    WELL WELL WELLL

I sent ladbrokes an email saying I wasn't putting any money on the site till this was made clear as I didn't want to be seen cheating (because I would have 2 aliases)

the reply (I think they just want me to put $$ on the site as this isn't right.)

Thank you for your e-mail. Microgaming have confirmed that it is possible for a player to create multiple aliases across different casinos. If we can be of any further assistance, please contact us again and we will be more than happy to help you. Kind regards, TraceyCustomer ServicesLadbrokes Online Gaming

    This is a joke

WHY THEN, does the software (when working) ask you to confirm your CURRENT MPV alias rather than allow you to choose another. While you CAN choose another, this is achieved by LYING to the prompt "is this you", where you are CLEARLY supposed to use an existing alias, rather than create several. The terms for the MPV even state this, they say that you are permitted only ONE alias "over the MPV network".

Since this has come from MG themselves, and the question has been asked a number of ways, including by myself, we have to assume that having, and using, multiple aliases is NOT "CHEATING" as far as MG and the casinos are concerned. (Perhaps they feel this is a price worth playing to make more money out of a single player through enabling them to double, or even treble, up on PAID tournaments). Given that many tournaments now allow up to 999 REBUYS, it seems that MG and casinos do not have a problem with players spending as much as they want to win.

Players, though, probably see this as completely undermining the original idea behind these MPV events, as it is now possible to BUY your way to the top, rather than it being down to luck of the slots.

We should also see NO COMPLAINTS WHATSOEVER from CASINOS about them having to "void" anything citing "multiple MPV aliases", and ANY casino that tries this after the above ruling from Microgaming should be fast-tracked to roguedom, as their dispute should be with MICROGAMING, and not players caught up in this "dollars before fair play" situation that MG and casinos have morphed MPV into.

    I totally agree,

Would rather believe it if the email was from MICROGAMING.
But as you can’t email them and ask, we have to believe

Lets be careful of the wording here..MG confirmed it is "possible" to create more than one alias, they are not saying that we "should" or "can" do so. I would not want to be a multiple alias winner of the $20,000 weekender and wonder if my winnings could be confiscated.

The problem with this thread is that you are giving out information that a player might benefit from using multiple aliases.

Quite, but Microgaming seem OK with this, and Ladbrokes casino are CERTAINLY OK with this to the extent that is is COMPULSORY on their site.

Players seem to think this is "cheating", because it does indeed offer serious advantages to players YET TO REGISTER, while we who registered earlier did so believing that we were supposed to have only ONE alias overall, and are now faced with dealing with the confusion of having to have extra aliases, but NOT receiving the benefit under the new tournament structure. MG have completely given up on the idea of one person, one entry, as nearly all tournaments now seem to have 999 REBUYS available, so it doesn't matter so much about multiple aliases, now that it helps make more money for the MPV.

Let's not forget, MG and the casinos can ONLY GAIN from players taking advantage of this loophole, as it means more buy-ins, and no matter how many players use multiple aliases, even in freerolls, MG and the casinos do not pay out any more in prize money, it is NOT the same as players having multiple accounts, as this DOES mean the casino pays more, through extra bonuses.

Hopefully, by having this out in the open, MG will reconsider this lax attitude, and enforce the original MPV idea of ONE alias per player, and FORCE Ladbrokes to comply by allowing players to use their main MPV alias on their site, rather than having to create a second one.

I asked alljackpots if it was ok to play both my aliases on the shared tourneys

Q: What is an alias and how do I get one?

In order to protect your privacy, your real name or account number is not
When you click the Join button and register for your first tournament, you will be prompted to create an alias. The alias you create will remain your alias for all subsequent tournaments that you join. Choose your alias carefully, and remember these rules pertaining to aliases:

    1. You cannot have multiple aliases. Each player has only one alias across all Microgaming casinos.
    2. No offensive aliases are permitted. If you select an alias that is considered offensive, your alias will be rejected, and you must select another alias.
    3. You cannot change your alias.
