Mobile (Cellphone) Casino and Poker Experience

I'd really like to hear from people in this forum who have experience of using mobile casino and poker products.

Is it any good, would be an interesting place to start!

What do you think are the drawbacks?
Whats good about it?
What would make it a better user experience?

Which is the best and why?
Is there much difference between them?

Mobile Poker-
who would play and why? -if there 'really' was a working solution out there
and not a mock up that isn't expected to do 'real' business.

Lookingt forward to hearing from anyone, as this is my first post.
Thanks

Yup I've tested a few out and I was looking forward to it for ages. My personal opinion is that it's playable, but not a challenger to the PC casino/poker experience - yet, anyway. I played Aces Royal poker and it works pretty well, but a good deal slower than PC poker - but still very playable to pass some time. The Spin3 casino software in use by Laddies and Wild Jack is prety good - Tombraider is close to the original although the Idols bonus screen is graphicly challenged. In fact the games themselves are all fine on the above (the other mobile products are pretty poor I've found) - its the "package" thats the problem.

My main concern for mobile gaming is that it's mobile! I'll explain: at the moment, people tend to be doing stuff on the move, so maybe playing games on a train is an option or in a waiting room, but most of the time there just isn't the time/inclination. Strange? Not really - I've found connections can be flaky and to be honest after a while the whole effort of connecting and logging in, loading a a game, depositing and playing on a phone is tiresome - G3/GPRS, the phone itself, the speed - it just isn't good enough yet. It's definately for the hardcore, but if I were near a PC or only an hour away, I'd wait and use that.

Things will change in the future - it definately has a future - but the actual practical application isn't as good as the hype right now. The games are good - but the whole package as explained above is a tiresome process. That said, operators who are getting in now are getting in at the right time IMO. In 3 or 4 years time the technology it requires will probably be much better and more available, everything will be quicker/seemless. Can't see mobile casino and poker making a lot of money 'til then, but we'll see.

Thanks.. and could I also ask..

Thats very much appreciated and valuable info. Thank you Simmo.

Could I ask you and anyone else reading this thread (from someone
who is in the business of developing this product) what would you
suggest would be the best way to improve the products you have
played up to now?
What are the elements of the games/experience that are lacking in the product, aside from the connectivity issues that are obviously flawing
the mobile gaming experience, in terms of peer to peer games like poker?

Thanks again for any future input.

I've played several casinos to review on my site. I had nice results at most casinos (Ladbrokes - Spin3, XXL Club - Playtech, 888, BWin - own). I think Spin3 has the best soft around, the best interface first of all.
Can't see any big problems, my wish-list is empty . Disconnection is a problem for poker, not for casino games. So I think playing mobile is no problem, it can help to spend time being a passanger or waiting for something/-one.
