Phone spam from VIP lounge!

Hey did anyone else get this or am I special? A canned, really hokey car-dealer type recorded message a couple of days ago? I didn't actually listen to the whole thing but it was offering me (yes, ME!) some kind of never before seen or heard of bonus that was about to knock my panties off.

Seriously though, I closed my account with them shortly after I discovered CM, and after sending about 8 billion "Unsubscribe me" emails, they did finally stop sending me emails about a month ago. Now they're spamming me by phone instead?

I dunno, I just found it weird. And kinda pathetic. Did anyone else get a call?

I don't need a casino calling and begging for money, enough charities do that already. I don't think I've ever given a correct phone number to any casino.. for this very reason.

Different Virtual 'associates' used to phone me regularly; occasionally a manager. I could imagine a boiler room 'sales contest' in the background - GO TEAM, if we get $10k in deposits before noon.. PIZZA and BEER!!! SMILE and DIAL. 10% commish for every deposit you get in the next two hours... Low man gets to make coffee for a week... Now HIT IT AND GET IT!!!

But a recorded message? Probably on an autodialer... if you get a call and say 'hello' once, and nothing happens, don't say it again - this confirms your number and activates the 'sales call', and for run of the mill telemarketer's puts you on a spam list for others (after indexing no-call lists and 'previous relationship' status to circumvent them.)

Also, as this is the season of giving, never commit to a phone solicitation - regardless of the stated charity or cause - without requesting/demanding an audited report of how your money will be spent. Even the D.A.R.E. and policeman's ball, and light bulbs for the blind, etc. only give pennies on the dollar (if anything) to the claimed charity.

I was many a time that person calling inviting players into the casino.
RTG casinos usually tend to have a more personal touch good or bad they do thats just the MO of an RTG at least most of them.

I would not call it phone spam , its more of a sales call with a personalized bonus. I mean 7 out of 10 people that I called when I was the casino manager would take the call and take interest in my offer and 2 to 3 would deposit .. not bad thats a 20% to 30% success ratio.

My advice to ANY player depositing on a over the phone offer is to ALWAYS , NO MATTER WHAT get an email from the casino manager with the exact terms and conditions and the email has to say AS PER OUR PHONE conversation this is the offer I called you about.

This is way there is NO way for the casino to back out on the terms and conditions of that specific offer ... but then again its an RTG casino they can do whatever the hell they want and we are all just spectators of it all.

When my husband and I were playing at some "Rogues", Cirrus, Club Player and Prism (yeah I know but that was before CM and a few years ago and I did get paid), they would have regular people call. In the last month we have had 4 or 5 calls from "Howard" at Club Player, Cirrus, etc. Same name, same voice same everything. Howard must be desperate I have unsubscribed my email but the phone is hard to do so I just hang up

i got a phone call from another virtual casino the other day *shudder*. i thought they'd given up on me by now. i used to get calls often after the time when i had the misfirtune to unknowingly play at this rogue, but for months now, nothing until last week. i've gotten all kinds of cd's in the mail lately too. silversands, pharaoh's, forget who else...

greedy bast's. unsolicited and email-solicited deposits aren't enough for them i guess. grumble...

Yeah I did it for 3 days when I was young. I had more people yelling and swearing at me in those 3 eight hour days than I did in the whole rest of my life. That's where I learned most of my vocabulary of dirty words....

I've been getting the messages too, they can come from basically any one of the casinos in the Virtual Group.

I've tried contacting support at each casino and getting my number removed from the lists, but it's only been about 50% successful.

I don't know of a good way to make the calls stop.

Now I'm debating if I can sue for a do-not-call violation.
