I also emailed them and they told me the jackpot is still £4,300,000+ ......... so its strange that the software is displaying less than £4m.

They just told me its normal and this is how progressives work.......I really don't think they knew what I was on about

all very interesting.... it does sound like that chat operator didn't really have a clue.... wouldn't be the first time though. Anyone from MG care to comment?

32Red have just sent out a promotion email to Club Rouge members. At the bottom it confirms that someone has won the jackpot in South African Rand, converting to a win of £313,732.

The Major, Minor, and Mini jackpots are separate from the Mega jackpot, so any wins there wouldn't (and have never) affected the graph of the Mega jackpot.

About 3 days ago, the feeds for all of the Microgaming jackpots stopped updating. (No idea why). Earlier today, the feeds started working again. During the outage, it appears as though the Mega Moolah jackpot was hit!

It is odd that it only dropped by 300,000 -- I suppose the SA rand explanation makes the most sense (good thinking, guys). When you convert 4.3 million Rands to GBP, you get roughly 312,000.

    http://www.google.com/search?num=100...bp&btnG=Search

It would be nice if someone from MGS could confirm that this is what happened.

When you posted yesterday, none of the Microgaming feeds available to me were updating (hence, the flat-looking graphs). The jackpot values were displayed properly inside the casinos, I think, but the feed that is available to wasn't working until a few hours ago.

I set up the alert system so that a "hit" occurs only when the jackpot value decreases. And then, it must decrease by a substantial amount for it to count as a true hit. Some of the feeds aren't very stable -- they bounce around a bit -- so to eliminate false alerts, I set up "decrease thresholds" for each game. For Mega Moolah, it's $1,000; for Mega Moolah Major, it's $100. So if the Mega Moolah feed has a hiccup, and if the value drops by $25 for whatever reason, that isn't recorded as a hit. If it drops by more than $1,000, that would be considered a hit.

Anyway, when the feed started working again today, the hit was recorded (as you will see on the Mega Moolah graph page), although the exact time of the jackpot, and the exact amount aren't really accurate, thanks to the feed being broken for 3 days. How convenient that the feed was broken during the first-ever Mega Moolah jackpot win!

If anyone knows the exact figure, and the approximate time, please let me know and I'll change the number in the database.

I can't say for sure it was SA Rand, but it would have been someone winning it in their local currency, then this amount being deducted from the jackpot total, and the adjustment being made.

This has just been told to me by someone from MGS.

It was won at Pigg's Peak

Received this from Volcanic Gold today:

"Speaking of millionaire's, our sister casino, Piggs Peak Casino made yet another multi millionaire, when Mega Moolah paid out R4,308,741.01 on Thursday, 15th November 2007 to an elated Mr. R.V. He is planning on buying a new house and car, and was over the moon with joy at his good fortune. "

If only the game wouldn`t be that slow and boring...I would eventually give it some tries.
But that is only my opinion

MEGA MOOLAH ONLINE JACKPOT HIT AT PIGGS PEAK

One day just an ordinary guy, the next a multi-millionaire

Yes it’s true, these things can happen. One fortunate player, Mr R.V. went from being just an ordinary guy to a multi-millionaire, literally in a matter of minutes this week.

Mr R.V. was playing the Microgaming “Mega Moolah” Progressive slot at Piggs Peak Online Casino, just for relaxation. Then, the dream hit happened: he took down the largest online progressive jackpot to be paid out to date in the Southern hemisphere.

“At first it felt surreal,” he said, “like this cannot be true.” But upon receipt of his whopping Rands 4.3 million cheque from Piggs Peak yesterday (Thursday), reality finally hit home. “Life is good, but now it’s extremely so,” said R.V., all smiles but clearly still overwhelmed.

The player prefers to remain anonymous for reasons we can understand, but we can reveal that he is an IT technician by profession. And there is absolutely no talk of handing in his resignation, or doing anything extravagant, for that matter. Ask anyone what they would do with more than four million rand, and they would most probably say: “I’m going to immediately resign, and go on an extended holiday,” or “I’m going to go on the shopping spree of a lifetime.” But the very sensible R.V. intends to spend his money wisely.

“I would like to buy a house, as no one can afford to buy one these days, and maybe a car. Apart from that, I will invest the rest. But of course I would first like to share some of the spoils with my family.”

The Piggs Peak crew were delighted with the big win. “R.V. is such a nice guy! We are obviously over the moon that we could create yet another instant millionaire. But it warms my heart that we could hand over this large amount of money to someone clearly so deserving of it,” says Wendy Graaf, Group Marketing Manager of Piggs Peak Casino.

This player is understandably a Piggs Peak fan, saying: “I find the site very user-friendly. The games are self explanatory and very easy to play. The support is great, as there is always someone available to help, if you have any queries.” Will he continue to play? “Absolutely! I enjoy playing for just a few minutes every day, just to take a mind break,” he says.

The Piggs Peak group of casinos includes Piggs Peak Internet Casino and Volcanic Gold Online Casino, the only online casinos in Africa that bear the eCogra stamp of approval. This means the gaming software is continuously reviewed and approved, and all transactions are stringently audited by the independent international player protection organisation. For the layman, the eCOGRA seal on member sites means safe and fair gambling, with recourse to the advice of the Fair Gaming Advocate if required.
