I believe what has been posted, I always have, but didn't say much on the subject because long time members would really get on people for saying such a thing.
Nearly everyone (save for a very few posters, I highly appreciated the answers by AKA23 and KasinoKing) ignored my posts and speculations about the fairness of on-line casinos; two of the long-time members made several completely OT posts in the thread after my post, in which I questioned the fairness of on-line casino games, until they filled approximately one whole page with them and then the thread "died"... It was the thread started by the highly unpopular Thodorisk (I admit that some of his claims might have been a little peculiar, but he might have a point in some of his posts, IMO), titled something like "How much do online casinos cheat?".

In my opinion, it is safest to play live casino games at an online casino.

How come all of the horror stories start " I was on such a hot streak, everything was hitting", if that is the case than why is it so strange when a player starts losing. If a player hits a big payout with in their first few spins, does that mean it should always happen? or was the machine set wrong? The machines are pre programed and there will be ups and downs.
The "RTG" casinos can not set or change results for individual players, when they make a change it is for everyone in casino. When the casino changes the decks of cards on BJ it is more to interrupt flow than to change outcome. The difference between 12 or 13 decks that reshuffle after every hand is minute. It is more like a floor man comming over and start talking to you, or the dealer reshuffling sooner, just things to change the flow of the players good luck.

You mentioned 12 or 13 decks for BJ in the post above. Was this just an arbitrary number of decks you selected to make a point, or are some casinos using that many decks for BJ?

Zaqwert, a recently former software programmer for RTG, stated that the slots couldn't be set to <sic> "anything as crazy as 80%" in house.
I guess we'd have to know what occurs inhouse and what if anything occurs on the main RTG servers to speculate.
As Phyngster noted, it can be set in the casino, casino-wide, but not 'on the fly'. Do we know if it can be set @RTG? I don't.

I get tired of stating that it isn't necessary for a casino to cheat, that if I thought they did I wouldn't play, that luck - good and bad - comes in "clumps", etc. etc. if paranoi and superstition are to rule the day, so be it.

Three softwares that have been assured to be fair, even to the point of paytables not being changed in relation to betsize are:
    • Microgaming circa Thunderstruck, Tombraider and newer. per Ed Ware and independent testing by Meister Members
    • 3Dice per Enzo
    • Playtech (@xxlclub) per their rep here

If I'm going to play on any other software, I'm gambling more than my wagers and will only do it for entertainment or to catch a streak (clump of good luck) and quit while I'm ahead. And though in the past I've said there must be something up with RTG (because I'm a sore loser and went through a few grand with a quickness) I'm not going to speculate or spread rumors without something more than anecdotal evidence, and if I tend to think it's fixed, I'll simply not flush my money down the hole.

    aka23,
12 or 13 decks was just an arbitary number of decks. The casino could set it from 1 to 270 decks. I personally never had it set for more than 8 decks and would sometime change it to single deck. I played once when at a casino that had it set to 270 decks and got a 9 card 20 2,1,2,1,1,5,3,2,3. That is when I realized it was stupid to use that many decks. I can say from experience that I have seen streaks of players winning and losing upwords of 19 out of 20 hands, and there is almost nothing you can do when you get on either streak. I will say I have seen much more bad streaks than good ones, I once had a player loose 12 straight hands where he played perfect strategy. I did give him a manager bonus, but as stated I have seen players win into the high 5 figures on many occassions with plain flat betting.
I will say this I think that the RTG software is as fair as possible and the results mirror the same % that a land based casino would have. I think the main problem is the operators!!!!! If you have a casino that you enjoy and trust than stay there, do not test the waters out there. Hopefully you will be in the right place when Lady Luck looks down on you and you have that big win, but till than remember it is just a game and have fun.

You Say 'I will say this I think that the RTG software is as fair as possible "

But before this you say "I will say I have seen much more bad streaks than good ones"

In an honest enviorment wouldnt these numbers be about equal
