    £45 per spin MG madness

About a year ago I'd never stake more than £2-3 per spin, in the last 6 months this went up to £5 max with the odd few £7.50 and £10 spins thrown in for good measure.

After getting a few 4 figure wins the stakes have gone up and I'm now finding £10 per spin to be the norm with lots of mad £45 per spin frenzys!

I'm now finding on most deposits my balance is going nowhere and end up chasing to break even, luckily recently I've broken even most times but am now a little worried about my total lack of respect when betting.

I hit 3xrams on thunderstuck and on the 1st spin got another 3 rams giving me 29 spins x £45, I couldn't bear to watch so left the computer for 10 minutes expecting to return to a monster win and ended up with ~£800 which is less than 20x

I've had some bigger wins recently so still doing ok but need to try and find a good middle ground.

Anyone got advice on betting max, is it worth doing or are the odds of getting a huge win reduced greatly when doing higher stakes?

Set a bankroll for yourself to play with. There is no max bet strategy. Casinos want you to bet as high as possible expecting that big win. That's how gamblers get out of control with their money. Always expecting that next big win. Have fun but play with a specific bankroll that won't break you.

If they allowed you to change your play currency to US Dollar it would be a great help already as you are effectively halving your bets.

I would have to have a 6k bankroll to even consider 45 unit spins (except for the odd bet from profits) I would also have to be able to totally afford to lose 6k.

Slots are slots, and some money management can get you longer play time, thus more oppportunites to hit a jackpot, but there is no advantage or real strategy play possible.

IMO slots should only be played with the amount of money one can stand to lose, period. It would be entirely possible to blow through over 20k in an hour at 45 per whack.

As far as anyone knows the odds are not reduced by betting big on any of the newer microgaming slots (tr, t-struck etc). Your odds might be if you don't have a bottomless pocket though. When you think back to when you bet 2-3 per spin, you may have had a bankroll of 400 per session? Even then, if you are like me, there may be several losing sessions in a row. Can you afford three or four 10,000 losing sessions in a row? I can't and wouldn't if I could

There is no max bet strategy except the suggestion to only do it with profits (and that can be argued against) and if you are to bet max, do it on Microgaming, Playtech(@xxlclub) or 3Dice software that has been assured to be fair i.e. paytables remain the same regardless of amount bet.

    Good luck

If the OP couldn't bear to watch when he hit a feature..I'd suggest that whether max. bets pays more or less should be the least of his worries, should he carry on at this level. He should take a good few weeks out, and then come back at a lower stake level...that way he won't feel he's betting pennies compared to before...as he'll have forgotten the '£45/spin buzz' by then.

From my earlier experience, the 45 spins do not account for great bonus rounds, however a 9 spin might. I have had (in real money we are talking) 3 bonus rounds in Thunderstruck on 45, and 3 in Ladies Nite on 36 and 45. Strangely the 36 were far better than the 45 which were crappy. On thunderstruck it seems 22.5 is the winner for some reason, however I remember the trick was stopping on the 10x win - or you quickly died thereafter.

Also I found Harveys a bitch! First time wagering 25 I won 3500, which made me very happy. After this I probably lost 5000 during the next weeks, had a few bonuses (wven 1 where I won a happy 100 in 12 spins... go figure).

So I would say never wager higher than max x 1 (that would be 9 on Thunderstruck).

    Thanks for the advice all

After some bad runs I've had some decent wins on lower amounts and have managed to recoup most of losses.

I've reduced my max deposits in a 24 period right down and will be sticking to 7.50 and 9 for now, these stakes have gave some really good wins over the last few days.

Am determined to kerb this on a high, last few weeks have been a real eye opener - getting a decent £7k win was in a way a bad thing as I just got greedy.

    Cheers
