    Question Question about MG tournaments

I started out playing the tournaments in Royal Vegas and River Belle - then found out All Jackpots and Spin Palace also have them so I've been playing there lately instead as I have a bit more loyalty to those 2 groups.

My question (in two parts) is - no matter which casino you're playing the tournament, you're also playing against other players playing the same tourney in other casinos, correct? Unless it's an exclusive tournament. So do all the different casinos have their own RNG or is there one that works for all the casinos that are hosting the tournament?

The reason I'm asking is that once in awhile I'll play and win absolutely NADA - one time I ended the tourney with 45 (!) tokens - which is on par with what usually happens with my OWN money! But I digress....during that tourney, the person came in first had racked up about 38,000 tokens. It made me think, they couldn't POSSIBLY be playing at the same casino that I was, could they?

Every time I play a tourney and I'm getting spin after spin of nothing, I always think, "I should have played this one in spin palace/royal vegas/all jackpots" - whichever one I'm NOT playing in.

But would it even make a difference? Does anyone know?

I don't know But when I play a freeroll, I'm pretty much hoping for 5 rams or 5 lara's because they do seem to finish out in the 30-40 thousand zone.

For buy-ins I would join a 5 person tourney and be ready to re-buy if you were well ahead.

Not playing anymore tournaments unless free

I am on dial-up right now. When playing the tournament the wheels were spinning forever, the bonus game took to long to respond.

I think the fairer way for tournaments should be by set number of spins, not time due to the difference in speed of everyones connection and the quality of there computer. People with older computers and slower connections obviously are immediately at a disadvantage.

    Just my observation.

I agree Footdr... maybe they could be more than 15 minutes long too. If you've only got five minutes to play you're not likely to get anywhere near the bottom of your chips. I wait a few minutes into it before I start, that way the servers aren't so burdened and I get a little faster action, but even when I use my 4meg pipe I never use my chips before the time runs out.

    Looks like you got lucky

I have noticed that MANY tournaments end up with some pretty high scores. With Tomb Raider especially, there is nothing on the reels that pays big, as on Thunderstruck. The best hit (other than 4/5 Wilds or 5 Laras) is a mere 500x line bet, while in Thunderstruck it is 1500x line bet, AND with less lines (so a bigger portion of total bet).

It must be that those high scores result from the big hits, such as 4 wilds DURING free spins (10,000 coins), or 5 Laras at any time (20,000 to 60,000 coins). Really good bonus rounds are less likely than on Thunderstruck as there are only 10 spins, and lower line wins available.

This week in particular, I have noticed what seems like severe problems with responces from the tournament servers. I played the All Jackpots Ammazzacasino, and was left with over 6000 coins at the end of my time, however, ONE player ended on ZERO coins, and clearly did not suffer anything in the way of server delays.

After further investigation, I am of the opinion that something isn't quite right this weekend, as in "rigged", rather than 3 solid days of extreme connection problems. It also seems that it is "rigged" only for SOME players. Since this event was ONLY at All Jackpots, it seems I was "rigged" or "handicapped", but the player finishing on Zero coins was not in any way "handicapped"

I have not played at any other casino to see if this is specifically All Jackpots, or represents something that has been changed with Microgaming Central to change how the tournaments are set up. It may be something to remove the advantages of having high speed Broadband and a lightning quick PC - HOWEVER, this seems to have been done in secret, and leaves players wondering what the problem is when they see something performing below standard for them, but see other scoring players clearly unaffected.

For finishing all your chips, it has to be the Weekender, it is the ONLY event where the continues are also the same length as the first round, but still with a reload of half the initial chips. This means that you won't normally use all 10,000 in the first round, but will reach zero at some time between the third and fifth continue round.

    Cool

My husband and I play A LOT of these tourney's at Riverbelle and Royal Vegas. I can go through all my chips on Tomb Raider in the 5 minutes just because I haven't hit ANYTHING! I am convinced they are rigged (somehow, someway..maybe paranoia). Thunderstruck, however, is even worse. It takes 20 seconds after the first spin (and this has happened more than once) and I have gotten the free spins maybe 6 times in the last couple of months. I think it is because I stopped depositing and playing and now only play the "free" tournaments. Just my thoughts!

There is a long standing bug in Thunderstruck that still needs fixing.

There is also a session bug in Viper which causes it to get progressively slower and more jittery the longer an individual session lasts.
Best to make a fresh session before playing a tournament if you have been online a while at the start time.
