Thumbs down HUMOROUS RESPONSE TO MY EMAIL REQUESTING FOLLOWUP ON CASHIN

The email below is representative of the ridiculous responses I recieve when following up on my withdrawal

I have reviewed the account and can confirm that according to our Treasury Company the check was sent out on 17 May 2007. Please however note that regular mail checks can take up to 21 days to be delivered excluding weekends as the post office does not operate of the weekend.

Thank you for Playing at the Fortune Lounge Casinos, the Better Place to Play.

Another casino said my check was MAILED out on 5/14. Based on my experience NO check takes longer than 5 days to reach me here in Texas.
So I tried to tell them that either the date it was mailed was incorrect or it is lost because it is now 5/25 and I have not received it.

Their response was due to U.S. Legislation is can take up to 21 days, blah blah blah. to reach me once it is mailed.
What the heck!!!!!! Maybe by pony express!!!!!!!

Fact is I don't think they have a clue what is going on once they turn over funds to these 3rd Party processors. They clearly have no understanding of the U.S. Postal System and are not willing to follow-up on withdrawals with their processor until the 21 days has past.

Bad business practice is not "Due to the recent U.S. Legislation"

Well said... Won't stop a load of places holding up withdrawals on that basis however. Twenty one days to cut and post a cheque?... Absurd.

No, they are saying it takes 21 days ONCE POSTED, and worse, this 21 days is NOT just to cover their A$$, this 21 days is the NORM!
5 days is about right. Probably what they mean is that they have INSTRUCTED THE PROCESSOR, not "mailed the check" - in effect lying to the player in order to shift the blame from their side to the US postal service, unless of course, their processing office mails checks from Antarctica

I had a similar issue with Platinum Play recently. A cheque got lost in the mail, and they refused to do anything for 21 working days, i.e., a month. They just kept telling me to wait, in case the cheque shows up. Proccyber cheques are mailed from somewhere in Surrey, they usually arrive the day after they are sent, so a cheque that does not arrive in a week can safely assumed to be lost. Making the player wait is not just bad customer service, but by refusing to act earlier, the casinos are increasing the chance that a stolen or lost cheque will be cashed by someone other than the intended recipient.

CAN'T GET A SANE RESPONSE FROM ANY OF THESE CASINOS

Based on these two emails I would say they are definately suggesting it was mailed.

The cashin was processed on the 14 May 2007, however we are still awaiting the confirmation file from the processor as they would have released the cashin on the 15th or 16th ,as confirmed with the accounts department we should have an exact date by tomorrow

Thank you for choosing Roxy Palace!

The Accounts Department has confirmed that your check has been issued however it was issued via regular mail which takes between 14 to 21 business days to reach you. weekends are not counted as business days. The check was issued on the 16 May 2007 and you should receive the check anytime between the 04th and the 14th of June 2007. Thank you for your patience and please do have a nice day

Quick question: in the UK it used to be that you had to mark letters "airmail" else they got sent by ship which could take many more days. Is this perhaps a "cover our arses" statement to a) allow fo this and b) to prevent lots of people calling up after 5 days when there is a genuine delay?

    Maybe it's going by boat?

IT WOULD BE THE FIRST CHECK I RECIEVED FROM OVERSEAS

You could be right, but none of the checks I have received were sent from overseas. This would be a first.

Perhaps they are trying the hide just how DAMN HARD they are now finding it to pay US players by pretending the 21 days is just between the check being posted and received. There may be a lot more to this than they want us to know, lest US players take fright and stop depositing.
Perhaps they can no longer find ANY institution in the US to cut & mail the checks, and do indeed post from Surrey, and send them by boat. Airmail may be subject to more scrutiny than when sent by boat.

For the UK, this is not relevant, and 7 days in the post is when they should realise there might be a problem, there have been high profile cases of theft from our post, helped by ineptitude by the Royal Mail - the delay could allow the cashing of the check by a thief, and then the player could find them being accused of lying in order to get paid twice.

A UK check to a UK player will NOT have gone "by boat", and should NOT take 21 days from the date of ACTUAL POSTING (unless, of course, it gets mailed today from Surrey)

Just talking about the US, there have been several reports of checks sent by express methods having been opened by customs officials.

Looks like casinos are abandoning such express mailings to the US.

Those that mail from within the US obviously need to have a second process going from within the US. That would be time consuming too.

    It's a mess anymore.
