Question Wouldn't this apply to online gambling as well?

Quite interesting, but unfortunately most of the article is about the "Open Skies" deal also signed the same day. Does anyone else have more info on this "single market" deal?

From BBC:
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/europe/6607757.stm

Quote:
US and EU agree 'single market'

The United States and the European Union have signed up to a new transatlantic economic partnership at a summit in Washington.

The pact is designed to boost trade and investment by harmonising regulatory standards, laying the basis for a US-EU single market.

The two sides also signed an Open Skies deal, designed to reduce fares and boost traffic on transatlantic flights.

But little of substance was agreed on climate change.

However, EU leaders were pleased the US acknowledged human activity was a major cause.

What!

What

The Canada/US/Mexico union was bad enough, now Bush wants Europe

I have heard of "open skies", but a single market covering the US and EU?

One sticking point, EU - online gambling regulated,
US - online gambling banned.

Something will have to give to achieve "harmonised regulatory standards".

dealer wins is on a distinguished roaddealer wins is on a distinguished road
10 years ago I would have been glad of closer ties with the US but now I want the UK to have nothing to do with the US whatsoever.

They have turned into a "do as I say not as I do..... OR ELSE" government.

The American people has all but lost this country. We are too busy being stuck on stupid to realize that we've been robbed. This country was founded by George W and will end by George W. These are just the beginning of sorrows. In away we Americans deserves it!

I am going to say this and leave this subject alone. It didn't matter whom you voted for! All of your candidates was members of a well funded organizaion called the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR). The head of the CFR is David Rockefeller. The members are all locked tight in their agendas. Look at this sample list of members and see if you can figure out the who played what parts in the 2000 elections up til today. This are the same group of people that was envolved in the 2000 elections. And now you got touch screen voting. You can also goggle CFR members list and get a complete list of all the members.

Of course it doesn't matter who we vote for, or WHAT we vote for. GW, as well as other politicians never ceases to amaze me. Just look at what he's going to veto next....bringing our troops home from Iraq.

Now, can we please get this back on track so it doesn't get moved to wild cards, as well as having another political rant thread? There's enough of those already.

I'll ask again, does anyone have any more information on this "Single market" plan?

Interesting Winbig! I havent heard of this one but I know that Southeastern Asia ministers met recently and agreed to have a european style single market plan in effect by 2015.
It does not include common currency but strives to increase the flow of goods/airtraffic and review boarder tariffs ect.

Just found a discription of the EU /USA meeting held yesterday,
"The core of the summit initiative is closer cooperation between the EU and the USA in fields of protection of intellectual property rights, trade, financial markets, accounting rules and energy. It is moreover intended that various regulatory stipulations, for instance in the automobile, pharmaceutical and nanotechnological areas, should be harmonised."
It should be noted that there are summits going on all over the world focusing on these goals, not just between the EU and USA.

Well here we got to wild cards again.

I only see these issues relating to gaming in that Harrah's et al are mega-corporarations and the tide for many years now has been to a corporate world.

I will bet the Nixon. Eisenhower or Hoover had nothing to do with the 2000 elections.
