    Microgaming - Viper Fruit Machines

    Yet again, Microgaming have screwed up, but in a good way this time

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Cash ‘n’ Curry is now available for the first time in your
    River Belle download software!

    Cash ‘n’ Curry is a fast paced, feature rich fruit machine, with
    a trail feature and a Curry-go-round Jackpot with repeat chance.
    The game-play includes genuine nudges and holds on the reels,
    with challenging skill elements.
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------

    This first ever Viper FruitMachine release is more genuine than Microgaming bargained for, The knockout development is the "challenging skill elements". What they have introduced is something we "old skool" players used to hammer to death, a feature whose payout was determined by the level of skill of the player, or to use the technical term, an emptier.

    While it can take years for a seasoned player to become really good at these skill features, and still we miss a few on a "bad day"; this is not the case where we have help, namely our computers. Granted, it is harder to play these features with the keyboard, however this is not the case after a swift trip down to Maplins electronics, an old mouse or keyboard, a screwdriver, soldering iron, and one of those pre cut component boards. Also needed is the receiving part of one of those laser type trip wires.

    The procedure is roughly as follows. With the game loaded, and the appropriate feature in play, the tripwire receiver is taped to the monitor, such that changes of intensity (the skill bar being brighter than the background) create a voltage across it's terminals. This voltage then controls the actions of a circuit, which is designed to send a signal, which going through the old dismantled mouse or keyboard, is sent to the computer as the keystroke required to stop the game skill bar.
    Tuning it is trial and error, but once it is set to stop the feature at the right time, it will get it every time thereafter, and each feature entry is a guaranteed Jackpot (just like in the old fruitie days). The "emptier" is created where the average cost of reaching the feature is less than the average payout, and where this is forced to be the jackpot each time, this condition holds true, thus the first ever fruit machine emptier with unlimited coin hopper is born

    Bon Appetit!

    PS - Don't let it get cold, Fruit Machine companies tend to fix these problems in days, give Microgaming a week or two, and expect your favourite casino to "develop a technical problem" loading the game in the mean time. I am sure this is one "bug" Microgaming WILL fix without delay, and while they are at it FIX THE SODDING REST (or I will post another little trick next month ).

    That'll get their attention!!!
    On gee gees (flash version) I can always win the 'skill continue' but the stoppa? less than 5% of the time it goes my way.

    Curry has been available on flash for awhile, I never play it though. Gee gees was my first 'fruity' so I always go back to it.

    Can't wait for next months issue

    Ya gotta laugh.

    Software companies (and I'm referring to the lot) never seem to ask the people that count to do anything... instead they think they can do everything themselves without asking the customer.

    * Pub slot design, as VWM has capably shown above
    * Game design
    * Affiliate program design
    * Software usability design
    * and more

    It's about time software developers learnt to incorporate their future customers into their design and development plans.

    I am not certain why, but I was never able to get this working on Flash, but I always believed the theory to be sound. If it could be attached to a real frutie, without getting kicked out by the attendant, it would work. I was slung out of the whole of Brighton, and the Blackpool pleasure beach for "doing skill climbs", and getting the Jackpot pretty much each time (the "jackpot" was a mere £2 + repeat chance, but it took an hour and a half and nearly £100 in my back pocket to get the attention of the owner, who sent "the lads" over for a quiet word "Mr White would like you to leave now" )

    One reason this works is due to the unreliability of the internet. MG had to compute success or failure of the skill feature locally, and send a simple "got it" or "missed it" to the server. The actual code to do this is encripted, as is much of the data, otherwise there would be an even simpler method that would not involve your local components store

    Other fruitie tricks don't work. The main one doing the rounds at present is to switch off the machine at the plug while it is half way through counting a big win. When the machine is turned back on, the win is still credited, but the software has not been able to deduct it from the payout pots, thus the machine software (because it is not random, but fixed to percentage), still plays well. Do this often enough, and the machine goes crazy, giving big wins every few spins till empty, which is either £125 or £250. I have no idea how many "coins" a Viper casino holds before the attendant has to be asked to "refill" it

    I'm certainly juiced up, kicking ass at the Royal Vegas 2.5K Weekender. I'm starting to really like that Lara Croft

    Where are you? Not in the top 50 where it matters

    Vinyl you crazy genius!!!! Brilliant!

    Now go empty it out before they change it.

    Of course the software can always decide WHEN to award you the skill features, but funny nonetheless!

    I have played those MG fruit games a few times and quite frankly I have no idea what's going on with all those lights flashing and making choices to collect or try again. I'm quite lost on those games.

    Hey, I'm gonna take my multicolored led gift pen from an indian casino (it's totally cool!!!) and flash it at the appropriate times into the penny slots!!! Or shine it in the eyes of the slowest elevator operator on earth... 'Is this really going up sir?' Sorry, trail wasn't held and nudges aren't counting yet.

    God save us from the fruit machines I'm gonna lose all my money fair and square in a guaranteed 75% or better EV. Cuz that's what I call fun

    For disco freak, try gee gees, do it in flash at lowest bet and use the 'help'. It's a totally engaging concept, games within games.
