click2pay account opened but not by me?

Help,

I got an email this morning telling me I had opened a click2pay account I did not do this and couldn't even if I wanted to since I am in the US. I reset the password on the account and logged into it. It had my name old address, phone number, and DOB. I called click2pay and they locked the account and told me to call the police. I then asked how the account was opened since I am in the US he said hang on. When he came back he said the account was opened for me by "allaway" I have no idea who this is do any of you?

Kudos to this "allaway", seems they have found a way past the Click2Pay ban on new accounts for US residents. This only comes to light because it was ID fraud using your old details. Had you really needed a Click2Pay account, say to get paid by some casino, this would have been a godsend loophole.
Clearly, there IS a way for US players to successfully sign up with Click2Pay - pity they are so publically crap no sensible US player (or any other player for that matter), would want a new account anyway

Allaway Ltd is a subsidiary of Villento.

Casinos and related programs can open eWallet accounts in your name to make deposits. I have had this done with ePassporte and PaySpark, after the US ban on the latter. I found this to be convenient in both cases, as I did not need to go through the hassle of figuring out which payments were available and signing up myself.a

That clears thing up a bit. I do have an account at villento but never asked them to open a click2pay account. Thanks for the information.

This is rather frightening. I can't believe Click wasnt falling all over themselves for opening an account with out all the security measures in place AND for knowingly allowing a 3rd party to open an account in your name without at least a phone call to you. I suppose maybe they think they are doing you a favor (as Aka mentions it is convieniant for him but he KNEW about it) but how is giving confidential information to an institution that can access your personal bank accounts convieniant if you dont know about it! Id be screaming bloody murder to Vill and Click! Confidential my bottom!

The initial eWallet should not be linked to a banking account, so nobody should be able to access the player's bank account at first. However, if the casino or related program that creates the account receives a copy of the player's password, there is a major security risk until the password is changed. I don't know if the password is mailed to anyone besides the player or not. The accounts that have been created for me have made the need to change passwords clear, as shown in the email below:

"... Ltd has purchased an ePassporte Virtual Visa on your behalf. Your use of this card is now approved.

To retrieve your account information and begin using your ePassporte Visa, please go to https://www.epassporte.com/ and log in. Your User ID and Password are shown below. For security reasons, once you log in, please change your Password and select a security question and answer."

From personal experience, I have had no issues with casinos creating eWallet accounts for me. But I have had a thousands of dollars in attempted fraudulent charges on my Neteller account, which was self-created.

no banking information was given just my name DOB and address that villento had on file. It does disturb me a bit that they opened it without my knowledge
or consent but right now Im happy that it wasn't identity theft.

I have never had that happen in all my years of online gambling.
