PayTru Card (Intertops) has major security issues!!!

I recently signed up online for a PayTru card, which is one of the deposit options offered at Intertops casino for US players...you fund it with your credit card, it's basically a pre-paid Visa, although I have not had any luck using it at any casino other than Intertops....anyway, I used it a couple of times there with no problem.

A couple of days ago, I went to the log in / re-load screen...it seemed to be taking longer than usual. Finally when the screen (to re-load the card) came up, I was shocked to see someone ELSE'S complete credit card and user information. This included their full name, full address, FULL CREDIT CARD INFORMATION (including account number, expiration date, type, etc) email address and computer IP address. (theirs, not mine.) I couldn't believe it! Had I been a less than honest person, this poor guy could have been wiped out in very little time.

I immediately took a screen shot of the page, sent a copy to PayTru, as well as an email to the player who's info was displayed. (I never got a response from him) PayTru did not respond in any way for THREE DAYS. Finally, today I got a one sentence email, "We are investigating the matter - thank you for bringing it to our attention." That's it!! Seems to me that should have sent panic waves through PayTru, but apparently not. It definitely stopped ME from using them. I'm wondering...has anyone else had an experience like this with them?

Wow.. that's scary. You'd think they would have had more to say when it pertains to such important information. Thanks for the warning!

This isn't much consolation I know, but the one thing that was NOT displayed on the screen was the CVS 3-digit number. However, when I click on the space for this (when I load my own card) it automatically fills it in, even though the actual numbers are blacked out. ( "auto fill") Very scary stuff. What I don't understand is how the other player's computer IP address could have come up - I didn't think that was possible? Anyway, as Desi Arnez used to say to Lucy, "You got some 'splain-in' to do!!!"

Now I use the pre-paid NetSpend card (which I have been able to use at all my casinos) and I feel much more comfortable with it.

What's even more scary is the fact that there are programs out there that Will Display information that is "hidden" behind those stars or whatever.
Operators: If you don't know what Transparency means, then here you go.....now how about practicing it?

Transparency, as used in the humanities and in a social context more generally, implies openness, communication, and accountability. It is a metaphorical extension of the meaning a "transparent" object is one that can be seen through. ...

Really? Jeez, I guess there really is no such thing as "protected information" anymore...you are right, that IS scary!

Yep, considering most of these programs are free to use and available anywhere...

I'm sure they mean good, because it's a way to retrieve lost passwords.

They won't let you load the funds on this card any longer. Came down from 'upper management'.

Not good. Kind of fits in with all the opinions that this US prohobition would leave the US market open to less secure operators. *sigh* But a response like that would really p*ss me off. I hate companies who come over as if you owe them something.

More on Intertops / PayTru card...

Yeah, I called the "customer service" line (and I use that term very loosely) and they told me "We have recieved word from management that YOU can no longer load YOUR card....I have been advised to tell YOU to email customer service...." OK, so let me share my paranoia.

As you may have seen from my earlier post, I had a very scary experience with PayTru, in which I logged in and up popped another player's life history, including all their credit card details. After trying to get a response from ANYone there as to how this could have happened, I magically got a "terse" email from customer service about two or three hours after I had posted, asking me "why I had lodged a complaint with Casinomeister and would I please REMOVE it at once, thank you very much." (Not kidding) This cracked me up - they could care less that they obviously had a glaring security breach, but by golly, don't you go spoutin' off about us!!!

I emailed back, informing them that I had not posted a "complaint", but simply a post sharing my experience and asking if anyone else had a similar one, SINCE I COULDN'T SEEM TO GET AN EXPLAINATION FROM PAYTRU. They then responded that one of their "sponsors" had reported that I was "lodging complaints" on casino forums about them.

So - when I got the "you can no longer load your card" speech, (especially since I swear he emphasized the words YOU and YOURS) I really thought they had "cut me off" in retalliation to my post! Funny thing is - when I emailed the casino, I was initially told that they no longer will accept PayTru, but then tonight I got another email saying they do. Go figure.
