Changing the way I play - If only they'd let me!!!

Right, as I mentioned somewhere on another thread - I've decided to change the way I manage my bankroll this year.

The plan is/was to not deposit with my debit or credit cards anymore, and play at 32RED with UKash (cash over the counter voucher), and Neteller with WagerWorks when I fancy some Cleopatra fun. Also, neteller for the Crypto's when desired. This way I can withdraw into Neteller, and make fixed deposits there from my debit card should I so desire... When my Neteller account is empty, no more bankroll for that day/week/month whatever... That was the plan.

    So, 32RED first.

I removed all my debit and credit cards from the 'deposit' page, and happily went about my way depositing with UKash. After a couple of attempts, I hit a couple of nice wins in my all new low rollin' fashion (), and thought "right, withdraw to Neteller and lets see what we can do!". So I set up the Neteller option in the withdrawal page and waited.

A couple of days passed (understandable with it being the holidays!) - and then the withdrawal gets processed as expected... Problem is, it says it's gone to a debit card that expired twelve months ago - at a bank that I still have an account with, but am in dispute with over something entirely unrelated. Damn. So I fire an email off to support who, as expected, promptly reply telling me that the payments department be in touch. Sure enough, the payments department get back in touch promptly the next morning - saying "yes, we made an error - It'll go through ok, but you're probably best to let your bank know to pay it into the right account" Or words to that effect. Damn. So that's my first attempt at funding my Neteller account failed. See, I know this is no biggie, and of course I'll get paid eventually with it being 32RED - but how do you make an error like that?! Particularly when the software clearly states where you want it to go to. And why pick a random expired card? No major biggie I understand, but annoying nonetheless.

Anyhow... Off to WagerWorks I go.

I log in, and find that you have to let Customer Service know if you want to change your deposit/withdrawal method - so I do. A few hours later, I get a response back telling me I need to answer a couple of security questions. Fair enough, so I respond with the info. A few hours later, and they come back to me saying my debit card has been removed - and I'm free to select a new method. So I log in... Nope, debit card still there. An email back to support, and they reply a few hours later saying it's done. Nope, debit card still there. An email back to support - and then the next day I log in to find it's finally giving me the option to choose Neteller. Hallelujah... Right, there's no money in there thanks to the 32RED withdrawal going astray, so I better go fund it before I can play.

So... Off to Neteller I go.

I decide to use my debit card here one last time, it's quick and easy and at least I can start playing before hopefully funding it with withdrawals in future etc... So, in goes my debit card details, waiting for authorisation...... ... ... waiting... declined. Great. So I decide to check my online banking to make sure I've not gone REALLY mad over the festive period... Nope, enough money in there to... hold on... there's less in there than there should be... hold on... the exact amount that I just tried to deposit in Neteller but was declined. For f***s sake... Yep, it's gone out of my account - but not arrived in Neteller. Now this has happened before, which to the best of my knowledge has never been sorted out properly, so I now enter the hell that is trying to get Neteller to sort it out. I've sent them an email, but god knows when I'll get the inevitable response back which asks for more information, before they can fail to help me further.

I know these aren't major issues in the grand scheme of things, and what with people not getting paid and ripped off all over the show and stuff - it's pretty insignificant stuff... But I just want to play the way I like at these places!!! I want to give them money which, based on the -EV of the games I play, will inevitably end up as theirs to keep. Neteller for fecks sake get to take a fee for pretty much doing nothing!!!!!

    Why is it so hard?

Thanks for letting me vent - and a happy and prosperous New Year to everyone in the wonderful world of Casinomeister!

Isn't working with the bureaucracy (Any organization in which action is obstructed by insistence on unnecessary procedures and red tape) fun! I looked up the word bureaucracy to make sure I was spelling it correctly. LOL... Have to love that definition. Goes right to the heart of the matter.

Call Neteller. Actually speak to someone and tell them you want this handled right now. So what if it is Sunday and New Year's Eve. No sarcasm intended. It is your money and it shouldn't be wandering the halls.

That really sucks Slotster. Why does this shit always happen when no one is around to deal with it properly? Let us know if and when it all gets rectified. What a pisser!

Gosh Slotster, how the heck did you manage to get a UKash voucher. I must have trekked myself off to about seven outlets ( all advertised on the UKash website ) In all cases I just got met with a blank look by the counter staff. None of them had even heard of the voucher! It was getting embarrassing

I did let UKash know about this and they said that they would look into it in the new year.

    Hi Gullcry,

I have played with UKASH and originally I had the same trouble as you getting these vouchers.

The first thing you have to do is print off the shopkeeper instructions from the UKASH website. If you don't do this it will be nearly impossible to get any, as the shop assitants will either of not heard of it or think it is some scam you are trying to pull on them.

Once you have the print out, look for a shop that has a Paypoint terminal first, this way the shopkeeper only has to scan the barcode, then its easy for them. What I do is ask the shopkeeper "Can I pay this please" rather than ask "Do you do UKASH" (The answer will always be no that way).
On the printout the default setting on the PDF document is 115% Print it out at this, because the barcode will scan fine at this size.

Finally, look for the bigger stores such as Tesco cigarette kiosks, sainsburys, Asda, Spar etc If you go to the smaller newsagents most of these guys just can't be bothered to do it.

UKASH is poorly marketed, and its customers are expected to do the marketing for them! Any Paypoint, Payzone or E-Pay terminal can process these payments, so when a shopkeeper says he doesn't do it, it just means he has never had one to do before. All 14,000 terminals in the UK have it live now.

    Hope this helps.

I had the same problem when I went to test Ukash for a review. Kept getting blank expressions from shop cashiers even at places advertised by Ukash. Probably just like anything new, it takes time to filter down.

Slotster: Hear what you are saying. Most UK "bookie" casinos insist you contact CS to get deposit methods changed. Almost without exception in fact. It's annoying on one hand, but actually quite good on the other as you aren't tempted to dry up all sources when you are chasing. Too much hassle

I can't really help with the UKash question as I don't really know how it works either! My mate has a few shops and I just give him cash and he gives me the voucher back. It is definitely something to do with the yellow paypoint machine thingies though.

Have to say, it's very easy and extremely quick when you use it online - although to be fair I've only used it at 32RED up to now.

I totally understand this, but it'd be nice for them to actually do it after you've asked!! Heh hee...

No update from Neteller yet - but then again I've set my expectation at seven days... anything quicker will be a bonus

RE Ukash, i found that you can also deposit into poker accounts and US$ casinos (i.e. Vegas palms) and the cashier converts your £50 (for example) into equivalent $'s.

Slotser! have you thought about a prepaid credit card? I am awaiting one from lastminute.com costs £6.99 and there are no fees for loading it and only 20 pence per transaction.

But it seems it is a Maestro card, so some casinos may not accept it

    Hey Andy!

I did think about that actually - maybe I'll re-visit it... The UKash thing was suggested by my mate who runs a few shops, so it just seemed really easy to give it a try.

At this rate, I'll probably just continue to use my debit or credit card - as I'm almost entirely out of faith with Neteller!!!!

I only intend to play at three or four casino's tops this year - so that might work... Can you pay BACK to those cards? Hmmm... Thanks for that!
