Kiwi Casino T&C - anyone knows what this means?

I recently checked the T&Cs at Kiwi Casino and I was puzzled by the following section. I hope someone can explain it to me.

"This play bonus gives you the chance to play on a much larger variety of games when you are new to Kiwi Casino and is for wagering purposes only. The first deposit play bonus and winnings obtained prior to meeting the wagering requirements will be removed from your account after a withdrawal request."

As for the bonus being play money, this is pretty much a standard Playtech thing. But I don't understand the part about also removing any money that the player has won during playthrough. Would this mean that there is no way to win anything from this offer? Or how should I read it?

I tried asking the casino but didn't really get an answer (probably they misunderstood my question).

It just means that if you try to withdraw before you've met the wagering requirements that the casino will only give you back your deposit.

It's so players can't decide to withdraw their deposit and winnings if they happen to be having a good run, but still have a lot of the wagering requirements left.

Once you reach the WR, you're able to withdraw anything over the amount of the bonus money given.

If you take it literally, it means you don't keep anything you won prior to meeting the WR.

A dodgy casino might use that to withhold your winnings. But I think Kiwi is pretty good so the T&Cs are probably just poorly worded.

Suppose you deposited $100 and you got a $100 bonus, for a total of $200 to wager with. If your balance never goes below $100 (hence didn't use the bonus money to wager with), and you had winnings (your balance above $200), I think it is only fair that the casino give you your deposit and winnings minus the bonus money if you hadn't yet met WR. I believe this is normal for reputable casinos. I guess Kiwi is trying to weed out people who can make money without the bonus. But by requiring WR, gives them all the more the better chance that you will lose it.....as I believe that is the real purpose of bonus money.

However, if you had some losses that caused your balance in go below $100, meaning your burned through your deposit and now are using the casino's money to wager with, then I understand that any winnings you get from that point on would be subjected to wager requirements. In this case, you may not get your deposit back before meeting wager requirements (since you already burned through it).

Thanks :)

Thanks to all of you for your replies. I choose to believe that Kiwi just happened to write their T&Cs in a quirky way.

So, to summarize my newfound wisdom: The snippet that I quoted only applies if a player chooses to withdraw before meeting the wagering requirement (though this is not obvious from the context). This means that from a player viewpoint there would never be any advantage to an early withdrawal, and it might as well be forbidden, but never mind.

The terms are just the standard Playtech terms and Kiwi is not up to trap anyone. I would have been very surprised if they were but the wording puzzled me.

kiwi's new bonus t & c

bridgehajen,

Sounds like members pointed you on the right track.
On a side note - Kiwi changed their welcome bonus offer from 1 week ago when it was 100% match.

Tip: keep track of your wagers in a log, their CS has a tendency (I speak from experience) to understate your wagers..
