    Strange *new highlighted words...

    ***

Hmmm, maybe it's just on my computer (although I very much doubt that), but there's a bunch of words highlighted in blue (like so) within some of the older text. They're links to other information sites. Am I alone on this one...

    Exhibit A:

Is it a new feature here at "Casinomeister.com"?

Check for Adware-type viruses. If you click on the highlighted word, you'll probably go to an affiliate link.

You're quite right "aka23". It keeps brining me to the same page (via link). Any suggestions on how to get rid-of-it? What program would you recommend that would work best for getting rid of this sort of virus? I welcome any advice.

Your public profile doesn't show any blue or underlined terms when I viewed it, Johnsteed. I'm using Mozilla Firefox web browser.

    Malware

I have looked at this with IE 6, and "Filmmaking" is not highlighted.
This may be a Browser Helper Object, something that inserts itself into your browser and provides extra links by highlighting certain terms in its database and providing for you to be able to link to them as though the web page producer had intended.
If you were unaware of installing anything that aimed to "help with your browsing" it has probably snuck in with something else.

Ad-Aware and/or Spybot S&D will almost certainly find these miscreants, and allow the option of reviewing them and getting rid of them.
I recall having this happen to me, and it turned out to be a form of adware using keywords to provide links to sponsor sites.

Ad-Aware and Spybot are both free, and Ad-Aware has an enhanced version for paying subscribers.
There is also something called a-squared, that very occasionally finds something that the other two miss.
If it is an actual virus, then the Panda website has a free web based scanner (takes a while though), that should find it.

Most likely malware, something you installed recently. Start with Ad-Aware.

Some time back Spear mentioned Trend-micro which I have found to be really effective in digging any nasties out. It's a freebie.

Hmmm... If that's the case... It was certainly worth it!

Thank you all for your helpful feedback!
