RTG Software Settings Question

I was just wondering if anyone that has worked directly with setting up a casino based on the RTG software would give their insight to what settings can be tweaked on the casino backend?

in slots, payout percentage and free spin multiplier?

In card games is it truly random or can it be tweaked beyond the paytable?

I doubt this question will get answered and I am not saying any casino is rigged but I figured I would ask anyway since some casinos I have played at feel different than others.

I have seen a few threads where players kick around theories or ideas on the software but I have yet to see one response from anyone that has directly setup the software before and has first hand knowledge of the settings in the backend config screens.

I'm sorry that I'm not a current or former RTG operator, but I know that they can't change the free spin multplier since that's built-in to the help screens and would be easy to detect and cry foul in the event of a discrepancy.

I have heard (this is hearsay) that the operators can adjust individual payout percentages for each coin size denomination. iNetBet's recent postings indicated that their particular games have the same payout % for each coin size, which either means that the operators cannot select different payout levels for each individual coin size, or that iNetBet chose to be consistent among all coin sizes.

While I was creating my web site's Video Poker guide, I noticed that for RTG video poker games there were never more than 3 different payout tables among all the casinos. This has lead me to the conclusion that the RTG operators can only select a paytable (and payout %) but that they probably cannot create their own paytable. It seems to me that they have "low", "medium" and "high" options. For example, Pick 'em Poker has either a 97.8925%, 99.1060% or 99.4466% payout.

It would follow that the slots probably each have three different settings - lately these would be labeled "tight", "tighter", "tightest". That which remains to be seen is whether they can adjust the payout levels for the different coin sizes.

Thanks SlotsJunkie, I have just decided that I must have the worst luck around is all then. I enjoy taking bonus's and burning through the cash I have always admitted to being the type of gambler who enjoys losing so the bonus's make the losses on my bank statement look better. I can't win at a RTG no matter what I do unless it is a free chip lol. I always seem to do well at MG casinos for some reason.

I even took a no playthrough 200% bonus at a not well liked RTG, dropped in 100, played with 300 and not once did I make it over my initial deposit plus bonus with 3 to 5 dollar bets so I burned the last 60 on slots playing Outta this world which usually gives me a decent return I varied the bets from 20 cents to 40 cents a spin and never hit a feature. I know that isn't so abnormal but dang It would have been nice to see a few free spins come up lol. Thanks again for your time to post a reply and for your insight.

Interesting screenshot, vinyl. Is this confirmed to be the control panel for RTG or is that still in question?

By looking over a few things, my impression is that this is not an RTG control panel. But I don't want to make an ass out of myself if it's been confirmed that it is, so I will await your response before posting why I do not think it's RTG.

The software is unknown. It could even have been faked, but it looks consistent with a genuine web based remote settings option.
The names of all but a couple of games have been blanked out, along with any information that would identify the software involved.

It could even be "start your own casino"!

Start Your Own Casino was what came to mind for me. Okay, here is my analysis of the screenshot and why I don't think it's RTG:

1) You can only make out the names of 2 of the games, near the bottom. The bottommost one which is not blanked out is Deuces Wild Video Poker, and the one above it is "Jokers Wild Video Poker". I will point out that RTG calls this game Joker Poker and not Jokers Wild Video Poker. This is of course not to say that the name can't be different in the back-end than in the front-end, but it helps reinforce the other items I list below.

2) The "Pay Outs" header immediately above the drop-down menu leads me to believe that all of the games in this section are Video Poker games. If that's true, it means that these payouts shown in the drop-down are also for Video Poker games.

I extracted payouts for RTG Video Poker games from the data I gathered when I built my Video Poker database. The max-bet payouts (which are presumably what the figures shown in the dropdowns correspond to) currently in use at the casinos I looked at are:

None of the payouts above match any of those listed in the exposed drop-down. The closest match is the 96.6% in the dropdown vs. the 96.6633% from my data. But because all the other entries in the dropdowns have 2 decimal places, this indicates that the 96.6% is really 96.60%, which is quite a ways off from 96.6633%, and such a difference could not be due to rounding. This does not necessarily prove that the game corresponding to the drop-down is something other than Video Poker (it could be slots), so we'll move on to the games we know about.

3) Jokers Wild (Joker Poker) - The figure shown in the screenshot is either 95.16% or 96.16%. My database indicates that 98.4734%, 100.0934% and 100.1614% are the three payouts for the paytables currently in use at the RTGs sampled.

4) Deuces Wild - The payout percentage shown in the dropdown is 96.08%. My data indicates that 97.3285% and 98.9131% are the two paytables in use.

Regarding #3 and #4, this is also not hard proof because there could very well be 5 levels but no casinos use anything other than the 3 highest levels.

However, the lack of even one match between my numbers and those shown in the screenshot, leads me to believe that this is not RTG.

So who is it? Well, I started comparing the payouts in the screenshot against my database. Here are the results:

• The figure in the screenshot for Jokers Wild does not match the payouts for any Joker Poker game in my database
• The Deuces Wild payout in the screenshot does not match any payout in my database for Deuces Wild
• None of the payouts in the exposed dropdown menu match ANY payout in my database.

My conclusion? It's not RTG, or any other reputable software provider. This leaves a few possibilities:

• The screenshot is of StartYourOwnCasino or some other shady software
• The payout percentages shown in the screenshot were not calculated with WinPoker (which is what mine were calculated with)
• The screenshot is a fake

The RTG casinos used included in my sample are:

• Break-Away Casino

• iNetBet
• Sail-Away Casino
• Sci-Fi Casino
• Vegas Break Casino

I have to agree with that analysis. One other thing that makes me believe it is not from reputable software is the fact that the selection seems to go down to around 90% for a VP menu.
It looks like something I might expect to see on a Windows based UK "random" fruit machine type gaming terminal, and a few of these have sprung up offering casino style games (Blackjack, Roulette etc). I suspect that these "Blackjack" games pay closer to 92% than 99%+ expected of honest machine based Blackjack - I have played one or two on the M6 and I believe they do indeed "cheat".

Perhaps someone can pose as an interested customer at "start your own casino" and see if this is how their settings menu works and looks like.
