Will we (americans) get our money?

Even if we are not allowed to deposit at online casinos anymore, will we still be able to receive money from them? Let's say an offshore casino offers me a no deposit bonus (even though I'm pretty sure I've gotten them all by now  ) and I win money, is there anything in this "law" that says we can't accept money from online casinos or companies like Neteller, or is it just that we can't deposit? I'm confused about this and am just hoping that the $3000 that is supposedly on the way to my bank account from Click2Pay will be there tomorrow or Tuesday. I did an EFT withdrawal on Wednesday and it's not there yet...

also I have $80 in comp money coming from colosseum casino (i wagered $81,000 in that run i had last week) and I am hoping I will still be able to cash out if I meet wagering requirements.

Money

There will most likely be a time lag before the flow dries up. Neteller will not want to alienate customers if it can help it, and there will be no dispute as to who the funds belong to. If banks refuse transfers directly from Neteller, they will find another way.
There is still 2 weeks before this most likely gets signed into law, and this should allow time to extract any large amounts of money from Neteller, however refunding Neteller has probably become more difficult.
If money is already in Neteller, it is probably worth looking at getting the Neteller ATM card as a backup means of getting at the money. This card works internationally, so even if US ATM machines are set to reject it, there are other countries nearby - worth the cost of the trip if enough money is there (as long as not too much is brought back at a time).
If the measure only targets the transfer of funds to the offshore sites, money already offshore will be unaffected, and US players who are winning will have little problem if the casinos are still prepared to accept the business.
The risk to executives comes from being on American soil. If they can avoid this, they should be OK.
US players should be extra vigilant though, as many casinos that still market to the US will be likely to be a little bit shady.

LOL. Is gambling online legal in Canada?

Maybe they'll organize excursions up there for Americans to play online, or at least withdraw their money.

YUP,
I dont think it will be banned in Canada, for one thing all winnings from Casinos, lotteries, bingo etc are non taxable, so the government doesnt feel it is not getting its fair shake, and then they would have to deal with the Indians (Kanawahke).

LOL! I was actually thinking, maybe I'll have to go to another country to get my winnings. I live 20 minutes from Mexico.. hmmm.

I don't use my bank for transactions, mostly I use Payspark and prepaid debit cards. I deliberately have stayed away from bank/Neteller transactions for privacy reasons. Hopefully, this method will keep working.

You said a mouthful there!! It would be revolution, and I'm not kidding.

Maybe I should start a bed and breakfast, with in-room computers preloaded with the most popular online casinos/poker rooms? Offer weekend gambling junkets? ;)

Great idea, except for those damned "one account per computer/house/name/address/IP address/public shared environment/state/province/country/continent" rules.

Maybe they'll relax this restriction for profitable Bed, Breakfast and Blackjack houses such as yours?

Nice to see you back Pinababy69!

All players from the United States should withdrawal any and all money from online casinos and sportsbooks.

In addition, you should start your withdrawals from Neteller.

This will only get worse for U.S. players. There is no point in taking any chances.

Am I being overly pessimistic? Perhaps, but remember what BetonUS did, they closed down U.S. operations and they have yet to pay back any money owed to players from the U.S.

Time for a new hobby folks.

done and done.

right but why would my bank refuse to accept money... there is nothing in this new law that says US banks can't receive money from neteller/firepay/click2pay etc. is there?
I think it may have been alluded to in some of the wording (I could be wrong) but the point is, if the ISPs block access to NETeller, you are S.O.L. Even if you have the ATM card - you won't be able to log on to NETeller to withdraw to it.

It won't matter whether you can transfer money or not. Many operations have stopped taking bets from U.S. players. More will follow in the coming days. Microgaming will probably make the same announcement.

There won't be any reputable places for U.S. players to play.

That may change down the road, but for now, U.S. citizens are pretty much out of the picture.

I repeat, if you have money on balance in an online casino, get it out now. If you have money in Neteller, start withdrawing now.

I didn't think this would happen as fast as it is . Still hoping some of these casinos are jumping the gun and that things will change back in the coming weeks . I know it's wishful thinking .

No change in the near future. Don't follow the advice of any webmasters. They won't give you objective information IMO, they have too much money to lose.

The fact is, most affiliate webmasters are screwed. They will not make money without the U.S. market. Many onlline casinos, sportsbooks and poker rooms will close up shop within the next few months.

When the dust settles, there will only be a handful of online casinos, sportsbooks and poker rooms.

When the dust settles, only a handful of affiliate sites will remain in operation.

Believe me, many, many players are moving massive amounts of money out of casinos, sportsbooks, poker rooms and Neteller as I write this.

This is my last warning to players. Get your money out now.

Sorry, but the fact is:The end is here, now!.

With a few exceptions, of course. I think you can safely follow the advice of a few webmasters in here.

Correct.

Incorrect.

Maybe.

When the dust settles, only a handful of affiliate sites will remain in operation.
Irrelevant.

The end is here, now!.
Sorry, but I take exception to this. People *do* live outside the US, after all.

Knock it off, chicken little, we got your frickin' point the first time.

Way to encourage the knee-jerk and panic reactions.

Shut up fool. If only you knew what your were talking about.

I only have one interest, making sure players don't lose any money.

You on the other hand, don't appear to give a damn.

Read the news and get a clue. The industry is going through a massive upheaval. The sky is falling, so don't' give me this chicken little crap.

And don't ever respond to one of my posts, you little whinny turd.

Sorry MacGuyver, but the sky really is falling. Do you really live in NC, or are you over in europe somewhere that isn't affected. You have tried to belittle posters on a couple of occasions now for simply bringing up the sad ass truth, IT IS OVER FOR THE U.S. PLAYER!! So you fucking deal with it and pollyanna your dumb ass off line. Or, are you one of the "take as much from the americans while you can casino shills?!?" I'm sick of your attitude, so fuck you!!

Wow.. come on members. We're all adults here. Sure, times suck right now for us U.S. players. Don't take your frustrations out on each other!!
Exactly.

Take it out on the political scumbags at the voting booths.

And whoever said something about "don't listen to webmasters" - you're not only slamming me (by the way, I have not made a single dime as an affiliate), but you're also slamming the other good folks around here up to and including Casinomeister himself.

I understand you're upset, and yes, it is pretty much over for U.S. players and U.S. affiliates, but please direct your anger to the politicians, where it rightfully belongs.

I'm not above name-calling, so I won't go there. :o

I can understand everyone's frustration at the moment, even though I'm not an American who must face this pressing state of affairs. I think it's too early in the ballgame to be taking hard-stances on these developments. I can only suggest taking a little more time, as we need more perspective on the matter-at-hand.

Actually, I've changed my mind. Reggie Miller can have a month's vacation, this is the second time around.

Hmmm, you're a KNICKS fan "spearmaster", I'm thinking that this is easily the tenth time around where Miller's done enough to warrant a suspension.

ESPN news update... Reggie Miller & Big Dirk suspended by commissioner "Loh" upon receiving too many technicals... more at 11:00...

Sorry, too easy to pass-up. ;)

OK, maybe I was little bit out of line.

I could have called these people a lot worse, mind you, but I thought "chicken little" was pretty appropriate. My other word choices could have been less vitriolic, yes, and for that, I apologize.

For the record, I do live in the good ole' U.S. of A. and I am not a shill for any casino. It's just worrying enough what the government is doing without having to listen to cries of "The end is near!" IMHO.

Spear, I'll take a week's banning as well if it's deemed appropriate.

It might even make my upset stomach relax some. :)

Mac, you weren't the only one yesterday who used the term Chicken Little on here. Hardly grounds for suspension, IMO. The other two however were way over the line, again JMO.

Glad to see that Spear once again has control of the "button". :p

Thanks SJ! And I'm glad to see that you stuck around after the JF fiasco. You've become what I consider to be a valuable member of this forum. We gained a few through all that mess...so I guess there really is always a silver lining, lol.
