An "even money bet" is where you have a 50/50 chance of winning. (Like tossing a coin and betting on either heads or tails.

With casinos certain bets are called even money bets even though a small house advantage is there for the casino. Typically betting on red or black at roulette is considered an even money bet, but because of the zero on the roulette wheel you will occasionally lose your bet when it hits the zero!!

With regards to bonuses you cannot bet on both red and black for say $10 and have that count as $20 towards the wagering requirement of the bonus. The casino wants you to risk your own funds!!

isnt casino war an even money bet then? put down a dollar and u have a 50/50 chance of getting a dollar back? Im hoping I understand this, I havent even gotten near roulette so I dont understand that grand game yet, but I have been playing war since I was itty bitty at home and I love playing it online. 32red says they allow casino war except "even money bets". I thought it is a 50/50 game. Thks for ur reply..set me straight if Im off track.

Casino war is not an even money bet, the problem occurrs when both you and the dealer tie.

You could look at wizardofodds to read more on it, and you should be safe from this being considered an even money bet.... you can play it.

I'm not so sure about that, since the terms for the welcome bonus states:

    "Qualifying Games Include:
    [...]
Casino War (except even money bets)"

So it seems like 32red considers war to be an even money bet.

thank you both for replying. I found it odd that the casino csr couldnt even tell me about it. (and not knowing what one of his own games is..is...rather odd don't you think?) Ill check wizards...anyone else have an opionion on this? P.S - I just got wooped on Casino War elsewhere..it sure wasnt 50/50 today! lol

Any casino that thinks that betting red/black in roulette is an "even money" or "no risk" wager needs to hire someone who completed a 5th grade level math course.

goldenriviera and some other casinos counted even bets for wagering requirements (I am not sure if still they do)

But it doesnt work because there is still a ''0''.

And at the past (about 4-5 years ago) when I testing maringale for a long time,I found that we have very less chance with betting 'even-odd' than 'red-black'.

Mathematically "red-black" and "even-odd" have exactly the same odds and will over enough trials will produce the same return. The ball will land in the zero (or double zero on a US wheel) the same amount of times and whether your betting either of the above the bet is lost. (or half lost in the UK casinos )
