ugly spammers

i ve been trying for months now to unsubscribe from a mailing list called "gamblingstars" , which leads to an url "casinoprophets" ,
which leads to... (some spammy casinowebsite)

What makes me quite a bit angry, is that i always get the same message back, when i try to unsubscribe:

and here is the response:

As you might have guessed-- if you try to send thema e mail, it comes back (no such adress).

Has anyone here an idea, how to stop that ?
(ok: ignoring is the 2nd choice!)

You're actually in luck if you want "revenge". I've dealt with spammers that's registered with Tucows before that's had fake registration info, and the domain was deleted within a few days.

This snail mail address is definately fake, as I live one state away, and used to live in Delaware too Not to mention there are NO 6 digit house numbers in the USA that I'm aware of.

Other than getting the domain revoked per ICANN regulations (You're required to provide ACCURATE registration information), you're screwed as far as reporting the spam itself. Interland is notorious for allowing spammers to run free on their network. Such a shame.

you´re right: i had an idea of "revenge" ... but cooling down and thinking is always a better way.

I dont have the complete e-mails anymore (deleted), but i m sure, it will take only few days til they send new "fantastic promos" (

i guess, i m not the only member here, who gets that stuff?

many spammers use this unsubscribe feature only to verify working e-mail adresses!

The moment you receive any spam and go to the unsubscribe site and "unsubscribe" you really will get bombed...

I don't know what you're using for an e-mail program, just put the whole domain you receiving this spam from in your ignore or spame list...

another thing is to set preferences that all mails with this e-mail will go direct in your trash folder...

if they are using allways the same title you can set preferences that all mails with that in the subject will go direct to your trash folder...

in case they are using different subjects but the same domain and different addys just put the @xxxx.xxx in your preferences. Don't put anything before the @ , this way all mails you receive from this domain will be forwarded to the folder you specify...

I never go to any unsubscribe sites and never click the links in the e-mails, that is in most cases enough for them to verify your adress... specially if they use this types of "verification" codes...

I guess I'm weird...Every now and then I like going through and finding my habitual spammers and getting their domains shut down....I guess it's poetic justice

I guess you are just tired of it... like everybody else...

It's some fun with shutting the doamins down, the problem is that this spammers will be back with another name within a few hours....

What also works great is shutting down their internet connection.... That only works with guys what are new in the spam biz and are not experienced enough to hide all the trackable informations they send....

Yes, but it's the gratification knowing they have to spend money for a new domain, they can no longer use the old domain, plus all the changes they have to make to the program and message(s) they use to spam
