    PlayShangrila closing their doors

After having signed up as a new player a couple weeks ago I got this email from them today:

    Dear Schanky,

As Shangri La Online casino is closed we would like to return the remaining money of $1 from your gaming account.

Can you please tell any electronic payment system ID (WebMoney or Yandex) to transfer the funds?

    Thank you.

    Best regards,

    Elena Lazareva

    Shangri la Online Casino

I do not think they have ever done anything good or bad, have they?

Did a quick search and nothing so cant really help. However, it did throw up this very interesting thread from 2003 about a player who supposedly turned a $5 bonus (read why it was a bonus - should ring a bell!) into $200,000 - on slots too But ending up at a rogue casino!

Quite a few of the regulars here got involved...Jet, Meister, Mary, Jyde, Sirius etc.

Its a good read, but be warned, after 5 pages it ends abruptly with no hint of "what happened next". He PAB'ed, so perhaps the Meister can enlighten us???

    Enjoy!

The player never submitted a PAB and this drifted to the wayside. He made his postings and never returned which I find rather suspect.

But besides this, this casino was related to the Elka Systems/Oyster Gaming casinos which have direct connections with Russian spammers. It's all documented here:

There is one thing I forgot to mention though:

Shangri La Casino has had the COOLEST music that I have ever heard in any Online Casino! -Yes, I am serious about that!

I really wish MG or others would implement a way you could choose your own mp3's as a soundtrack instead of alot of that other background music. Wouldn't be that hard...

@Di.fm.... Tis' one of my all time favorite threads here: sound is round

Winbig, especially at MGyou can always switch of the sounds and/or music in the software settings and listen to your own tunes. I do that aaaalllllll the time.

You are talking about different ShangriLas probably.
Never heard about old Elka one. New one opened in 2005, had "honest" 3D games (as in your favorite shooter ). They were connected with Shangri La casino, Moscow. They were OK IMHO, won about $100 there, but looks like they didn't manage to collect customer base and decided to close instead of loosing money. I'm speaking about playshangrila.ru (.com) which redirects to B&M casino site now.
All the best: casinos, bonuses, poker-rooms .
