I'll put this here so it gets a lot of views, but (obviously) it can be moved ...

Interesting to see the DOJ's seal and a note saying that my repeated attempts to access Casinomeister's site would be reported to the FBI, Interpol and one other agency I can't remember.

Personally? I'm not too keen on using fear as a tactic to wake people up. To each his own ... though I may be boycotting tomorrow's poker game because of this.

(Of course, if this was the result of a hack, all my above comments are null and void and my foot will be served with a nice side of onion dip to be duly inserted into my mouth.)

I fell for it totally, the ditz that I am.

I e-mailed everyone on my list of representatives, called th FBI (both in Northern VA who routed me to Norfolk location). And gave them a piece of my mind this morning!

I said my piece on the HR 4777 bill through e-mails today to all of them.

You did good. Very, very good. Got my attention and off my tush!

Kind of a "cruel" joke ...but remembering the date I kinda figured it probably wasn't serious (then my thoughts went to someone "hacking")... but still frustrating til I could access the site, and made me wonder

Shoulda mentioned the reason I fell for it totally. (Not that anyone would care, but I would like to share)

Freedom is a very precious thing to me and yes, Bryan brought all my fears to the forefront by doing this for I actually felt the power of being bound and helpless for a few moments.

I am a "naturalized" american citizen that escaped with my family from Hungary during the Hungarian uprising where they came to our homes, removed us forcefully and put us in holding camps all the while beating my father with clubs until he had no teeth left but one. We ended up at Ellis Island after escaping, (this is documented) and to this day, when an American hymn is sang, I feel such an overpowering emotion and honor to be one.

A healthy respect of Fear is a good thing, a healthy thing, for it motivates people to do things that would never be done or get done. Americans need to be WOKEN up from time to time to keep what happened throughout history repeating itself. (I apologise to all if I went off on a tangent...couldn't help myself)

It motivated me BIG TIME!

Ah yes, I figured some people would forget to check their calendars today. Sorry to freak some people out. In fact, the original prank was much worse - it was a Federal Confiscation of the website and all of it's data. I showed the page to my wife a couple of days ago thinking it was funny, but she began to cry - so I decided to nix that idea.

But yes, it was somewhat of a wakeup call - all indicators point at this bill picking up speed, and I would hate to see some funkified laws passed that would encourage this sort of Big Brother mentality.

Yup, it gotcha'ed me well and truly to the extent that I emailed Bryan to have a rant.

Sorry 'bout that Bryan, but it scared the bejesus out of me.

I work for a big American company in the UK, and we are expected to put USA government policy ahead of that of the UK government. Which really pisses me off, because I am not affiliated with the States in any way, shape or form, and to think they (my company, that is) are that arrogant almost beggars belief. HUH! (Although I am not British either, but I live here, so that is all that counts.)

So when I saw the DOJ lockout this morning, I believed!

Once I got over my embarrassment at being 'had' (thought I was far too cynical for that.... ) I realised that there is a very valuable lesson in there, for all of us, namely that to remain uninvolved in this debate is to encourage censorship of the worst kind.

So where do I sign up?.

I thought it was damned good, too - I had a good chuckle when I hit that serious looking logo and the typical gobbledegook officialese that went with it.

Don't try to over-analyse this; Bryan has a knack at this time every year for zero-ing in on highly topical issues and having a little fun with them. If it alerted some to the dangers of ISP blocking, then that's a bonus imo.

It's been going for a while and seems to have reached it's plateau if it is still at 85 percent and 15 percent.

Check out Casinomeister News where this was reported last month, and there was quite a lot of attention given to it in another thread here.

Last time I looked it was just under 7 000 so it is obviously still attracting attention, which is good.

Casinomeister hands over site to Jiveman Poker
In an unprecedented move, Bryan Bailey of Casinomeister has merged with Jivemanpoker.com to become one of the largest casino portal/pokerrooms in the industry.

Sergei Badanov AKA "Jiveman" will be leading this joint venture from his Moscow offices in the Russian Federation. "Jiveman" is the three time champion of the Moscow Poker Olympics, winner of the "Texas Hold'em Rodeo" and head of the Petersburg Poker League.

"With the amount of money we can make from players, we will be very happy," states Badanov. "We will make use of our player database to make a most profitable venture."
