Is this a problem with BJ?

OK, I've edited out any mention of this particular casino's name on these screenshots as I just sent out an email with what I perceive to be a HUGE bug in their software.

However, since y'all are so wonderful here at Casinomeister ( ), I'd like some confirmation that I do indeed have a problem and not imagining things.

Here's the first screenshot, where I hit a natural blackjack (note my bankroll because the win hasn't been credited yet):

    And here's the resulting win.

Am I crazy or have I only been credited $7.50 instead of the $12.50 (which is the regular 3:2 payout on a $5 bet)? This has happened at least 4 times today alone, but I started getting suspicious after the 2nd time and messed up the screenshot on the 3rd time.

Any comments are, of course, greatly appreciated.

Unless the five dollars bet is included in your total balance on the first picture, we definitely have a problem here.

Was the $5 wager already taken out of the $135 balance before the hand was dealt? (meaning you had a $140 balance before you made the wager) IF SO, then the software isn't crediting your original $5 bet back to you when you win natural blackjacks. $5 original bet + $7.50 natural blackjack win = $12.50 credited back to you. $135 + $12.50= $147.50 but your balance is $142.50, $5 less than you should have won. There is definitely a problem with the software depending upon whether the $5 was already taken out of the balance before the hand was finished.

Yes, the $5 wager is taken out before the cards are dealt. This only happens with natural blackjacks I've found ... if it was another winning hand, I've been credited with $10 (my original $5 bet and the $5 win).

I've asked for my logs in the email I sent to the casino, but may not hear anything until Monday.

Well, though I didn't expect to hear anything from this place until the weekend (we all know how well casinos communicate or work, especially on the weekends) ...

I received an email from the casino today (same day I sent off my email to them) saying they're investigating the matter. I should hear something "soon", so I'll keep the thread updated.

I'd love to be able to name the place by way of saying how professionally and quickly they handled the problem, but we'll see.

    They paid you 3:2 ($7.50 on a $5 bet); what's the problem?

In seriousness, paying off BJ's this way makes the game about 5% HA (rather than the normal .5%). If this is as it appears, they've got issues.

Yes, they paid him the $7.50....it's just that they didn't give back his original $5 wager though.

^ Exactly ... let me spell it out.

I had $140 and bet $5, leaving me with the $135 in the first screenshot.

I hit a natural blackjack, which means I get paid $7.50 plus my original $5 bet for a total of $12.50.

However, you can see in the second screenshot that I was only paid a total of $7.50 and they didn't return my original bet.

Tell me you're gonna play blackjack at any casino that keeps your original bet if you win. Yeah, I didn't think so ... but I've looked at your post again, jeremiah, and I think you were kidding since you put "in seriousness" after that. At least I hope so ...

As far as their house edge goes, this place is bad enough without this bug. You can only double on 10 or 11, six decks are used, no double after a split, though you can keep playing on split Aces. With his House Edge Calculator, the Wizard of Odds gives me back a .75% house advantage.

I'm holding off on naming the place until I see what their response is. It may well be a huge bug that they know nothing about, and I'm trying to give them the benefit of the doubt.
