This question of mass boycotts is a contentious and at times emotive issue, but I for one do not favour approaches designed to harm and damage the good as well as the bad, and although they appear to be in the minority there are some *good* Playtech powered casinos.

I take the point that sufficient licensee pressure might influence Playtech into a more active role in policing its bad apples (assuming that this company would listen to its good guy minority) but speaking personally I do not think the end justifies the means if it involves harming the decent with the unethical.

That said, and given the number of cases of bad practice that have arisen over the past few months, I think it is essential to caution all players that these events make it imperative that players research thoroughly before considering whether to play.

The point is how do you know who is good or bad, or more importantly when the good are going to turn bad?

I remember up until about a year ago I hardly ever heard of anyone having a problem with a Playtech casino except for with the Black Widow/Grand Banks group, which anyone with the slightest industry knowledge knew to keep clear of.

I personally played at Swiss and Casino King for months up until about a year ago and made many big withdrawals and was paid promptly and with no issues. I would've recommended them to anyone, and look how wrong I'd have been.

The same can be said for many other Playtech's like the Tropez group and Carnival and it's sisters, all of which have had several complaints lately.

IMO unless Playtech actually get off their arses and sort these crooks out, and has a disputes service that actually deals with disputes (instead of just forwarding the complaint to the casino) then everyone should stay clear.

Still today, they do not mention Video Poker or blackjack in their excluded games. Not for the signups, not for the monthly rewards and not for the extra payment bonuses.

Have you filed a complaint to playtech yet? What is their response?

After a little more digging, I also found out that Casino King is not even listed in their owner's webpage. Intercontinental Casinos
Casino King is part of IOG Casinos (Intercontinental Online Gaming), not Intercontinental Casinos.

I agree Dirk, that Playtech does need to sort the crooks out. They are definitely not helping confidence in the good Playtech sites (yes, there are some )

I have followed the link in the email I got announcing the promotion (Oct 27) and there is no mention of excluded games other than the standard Craps, roulette, sicbo, and Bacarrat. I have never known Casino King to have any excluded games except these.

Anyone else have this problem? Anything I can do to get my money?
Okay, according to the casino - you took them up on their offer (like you stated). They've provided the links to the bonus and terms & conditions.

    http://www.casinoking.com/promotions/312/details.html

As a reminder, the bonus plus your deposit amount must be wagered 12 times (25x for £) before making a cashin.
The bonus cannot be wagered on Baccarat, Black Jack Switch, Black Jack Surrender, Craps, Mega Jacks, Jack or Better, Roulette and SicBo.

They also produced the email they sent to you when you accepted the bonus. So apparently you must have missed reading all of the disallowed games.

The Casino reserves the right to withhold any amount in excess of the player’s original deposit from a player's withdrawal if the bonus is wagered on the above games, before the wagering on allowed games is completed fully.”

They paid you $3000 - maybe because the felt bad to what had happened. I don't know. I'll ask.

If this is the case then, I'll have to agree with the casino. Unless you can prove that the casino changed these terms* - I'd have to say that this is pretty much a resolved issue.

*if these were indeed changed, I'm sure there would be a flood of complaints. So far, yours is the only one.

I don't see why there would be a flood. Maybe he is the only guy who this happened to. I imagine winning $9,000 off a bonus is not all that common

At any rate it's plain that these are not their normal conditions, which state 'Baccarat, Craps, Roulette and Sic Bo', across all of their sites. I can't particularly see why they would alter these conditions for this particularly crappy bonus.

It is not hard for me to imagine that they did change the terms after the fact. I have had this happen at sites from Fortune Lounge downwards.

Unfortunately if this is what they are saying the terms are, it's impossible for the player to prove otherwise.

I explained in another thread that this group have had confusing terms for years (saying 'excluded from wagering' and later saying they are banned- some in the group put the latter part on another page).

Anyway, I found out yesterday that those pages were last modified in early July last year (you can check this in Mozilla browsers) so I doubt they are the same promo the guy had a problem with months later.

If a casino changes a bonus term mid-stroke that is live on a site - believe me, players come out of the woodwork all freaked out. You would see postings all over cyberland. So far, this is the only one.
