Thread: Golden Palace Progressive

I just got an email promo from GP. In it they state that they recently had a winner on their Caribbean Poker progressive for $340,000.00.
I have not seen this games total exceed $60,000.00?!?!
In fact, other than a win waaaay back on one of their progressive slots I have not seen any GP winners, and I follow all the major progressives from Crypto, MGS, KS etc.
    Has anyone else noticed this?

The guy above makes a good point...The infamous Golden Palace seem to be advertised almost everywhere..Notably the Wizard of odds....I hope mentioning the wizard of odds site does'nt get regarded as spamming.I believe the site is well known as a players site...Well i saw a really wonderfull piece on how the wizard acknowledges the Palace have behaved within reason. If the man aboves question is valid, then a quiet word from the OPA to the Wizard may be in order. I mean, possibly (alledgedly) falsely advertising a $300,000 + payout borders on internet gaming blasphemy...Does'nt it?

I think your wrong about the Wiz adverting GP.

In his Ask the Wizard column of August, it states
that is website partner Webstorm accidently advertised them, and that this was unacceptable to him, and he contacted Webstorm again, and they
    agreed to eliminate the ads.

If you want I'll reprint this for you if necessary, right from his website.

Opened an account at Golden Palace recently after hearing Howard Stern promote them. Won a lot playing BJ (2K)... then lost it all being greedy. Since I wager mostly on sports, these casino exclusive establishments are (were) not familiar to me. Stern's promo was good enough for my very small depo to try it out. Anyway... since my "test drive" went as well as it did, I've become much more curious about playing on a regular basis. I decided to do my homework and have been visiting/lurking/reading many different forums and opinions. It was a surprise to read the many negative comments about GP and their recent lock outs due to bonus abuse. That has fueled my motivations to keep researching and accumulating info. For the time being, I am going to continue play at GP and test out the payout promptness. Other than those bonus lock-out posts, I've not read anything bad about GP and MY personal experience has been very good.

I'm way off on a tangent now. The actual reason I wrote was because this thread seems to indicate that GP has lower rated progressives. If your refering to Poker ONLY.... Yes, the Carib Poker is at 60k right now, but their slots (.25, .50, $1, $2, $5, $5) are at 45k, 49k, 215k, 330k, 218k, and 225k respectively. I have no clue if someone reset the carib poker by winning it, but these slot progressives are kinda high.

I am going to continue playing there because I've received excellent svc, some comps, and I was able to win quite a bit (before getting "gambling fever" greedy). If anything should prevent me from collecting down the line, I will take my story to every forum including to Stern. I've played UG - BJ at several sportsbooks before and have had the sense that something was amiss. My GP gaming experience was much more secure in the randomness. Anyway. that's my stream of consciousness 2 cents. Hopefully I'll be posting my "2 grand" next.

Give me a break...is the above post the biggest spam post you have ever seen!!!! GP is dishonest. It has been proven time and time again.

As far as Howard Stern promoting it...that is called advertising. Ever see a commercial where they promise your teeth will be 10 shades whiter in 2 weeks? What they really mean is that your pocket will be lighter within 2 seconds of you reaching the checkout counter!!!!!

And those aren't bad enough? What, I haven't posted enough about the connections to telemarketing fraud?

    Dear Wizard,hello,Amanda here...

I don't know where to find any archives regarding your site.

I am either asking you where i find back copies of your site or for your input regarding.....

    Golden Palace.

I recall reading an article on your site where you say you see Golden Palaces point as made regarding bonuses and player account lockouts of a while back.

Would that be correct or a misrepresentation?

I look forward to your reply.Amanda.

p.s,thanks for teaching me how to play Jacks or Better via your site....ajm

    He answered the next day.
I have definately seen a G/P advert on his site lately.(wherever it came from)
I think the article does not actually concede thier point(G/P),so i apologise for misquoting him.I would like to add though, the article does'nt fall far short of condoning thier actions. It's a bit like religous text really,"all in the interpretation",so to speak.

    What say you?

p.s.May i say i like the Wizard site.I don't know how this all works really. If posting his email reply to me is wrong and/or bad, then hopefully all parties accept my apologies as of now and Admin just delete this post without banning me from this forum...ajm
