Triple down July 15th at Mohegan Sun??

So I got this in the e-mail today.
How good REALLY is the ability to triple down? It allows the player to capitalize on his biggest strength in a 21 game. However, I cannot express in numbers how this relates to the house edge.

A cheap marketing tactic? or truly worth it?
They do have 5$ tables also which allows for a bigger spread on the potential bet making.

Also, another interesting item I would like to bring up for debate here.

Even though Spanish 21 is a worse off game than 21, I'd like to point out the fact it has the late surrender on the double down. Assuming a surrender on an unsuccessful double down (or triple in this case) is half the new wager, does this wager spanish 21 a better game?

    Exclamation

Looks like the discussion is already been well versed here:

    http://wizardofvegas.com/forum/gambl...own-promotion/

    1.53% or 3.56% player edge

It is a VERY HEAVY discussion - I'm actually very surprised not as many people are discussing it here

Depending on the interpretation, and I'll quote the wizard from the second post

"Showing an eleven and looking to double down? On Thursday, July 15th, guests who play Spanish 21 or Blackjack will be eligible to triple down on their bet f.rom 6:00am on July 15th to 5:59am on July 16th. After a player receives their first two cards, they may make an additional wager up to triple the amount of the original wager. All tables will make tripling down available up to a $500.00 maximum bet. Standard double down rules apply. -- Source: newsroom.mohegansun.com."

So, that said, does anybody else think they will be making it that day? I want to see all the action!

The page also mentions that you should triple a blackjack vs. a dealer 6, but if naturals still pay 3:2 (or even 6:5) under this promotion that does not apply (with "Triple Up 21" blackjacks pay only even money).
That kills most of the player advantages right there. That's worse than 6:5 single deck.

winbig, the Triple Up 21 is a game format that offers the triple down in exchange of blackjack paying 1:1

this promotion should allow both 3:2 on blackjack and the triple down, otherwise it wouldn't be much of a promotion.

the statement itself should be in relation to the standard triple up 21 rules, where you would triple down.

I just wanted to *bump* this thread.

Anyone in North America planning to go to this thing or be in the Foxwoods/Mohegan Sun area on the 14th or 15th?

I'd love to meet up with some forum peeps and make some new gambling buddies

I just got the OK for some time off and will probably try to snag a room on the night of the 14th, so I'm suspecting a good late night poker/ craps session.

I have set up a small team to take advantage of this promotion. Hopefully they run this for the whole 24 hours. We will be max betting as long as we have a seat. This will get tons of pro action and will be a clusterfuck of people scrambling for seats

I will be very surprised if:

    1) The promotion runs the whole day and
2a) The "additional 3x" wager is honored effectively making the game quadruple down.
2b) If the quadruple down is in play, how long that even lasts for.

Don't forget there's a 500$ cap on the side wager.

As a reminder for all again, thanks to the WizardOfOdds, here are the strategy charts for triple down and quadruple down:

Hey if anyone needs crash space I snagged a room at Flagship Inn And Suites in Groton, CT.

You can get your own for 50$ through expedia and its 15-20 minutes from mohegan and foxwoods.

Since I've already booked a room, PM me and we can work something out.

    Good luck all!

edit: ps. I will be in my black suit and black/red tie. Look for me if anything! Hoping to meet some meister people out there

I am hitting this hard and doing well. This will be the biggest one day score since Casino On Net's roulette promo in 2001.

I have nearly 2 million in wagers so far.
