    Vegas next week- recommendations?

Hi there. I will be at a convention in Vegas next week with some free time. Any recommendations of where to play for poker and in general? Things to do and to see? I am staying at the Mirage and am booked for great seats for "O" (Cirque de Soleil)... any other must see shows or sites to see or other must play at/ try? Thanks in advance!

4 words... Reel or No Reel. Give that slot a chance, very exciting!

    Good luck to you!

Bally's has some not so expensive Texas hold em' tourneys during the day. 60.00 was the entry fee when I was there. I played a while at Harrah's in the 2.00-4.00 game, Texas Hold em'. Did well there.
I had the best luck on the slots at The Mirage, the worst luck on slots at Caesar's Palace.
I've heard the slots downtown have higher payouts. Don't miss the lightshow at Fremont, it's awesome! Do ride the coaster at New York, New York. Woooo Hoooo! It's bone jarring, because it's a wood coaster, so be prepared.

    Have fun and good luck!

Look out for the "Spin Poker" machines. I found one in the Wynn about 18 months back and it was superb. As were the waitresses

Thanks for the recommendation Simmo, but I am a "chick" so the waitress thing (except for them bringing my drinks pronto!) aren't so interesting to me!

Thanks for the recommendation BB28. I don't know if I will have enough time to do any kind of Texas Hold em tourney, but the Harrah's play might work!
    Thanks agan!

I really enjoy playing poker at the Monte Carlo. You will either hate it or love it. It is a small poker room, not one of those huge ones. I like the intimate atmosphere and the laid back feeling I get. They have all of the poker games, just not as big. I like the smaller places. Also, Ive always had luck on the Monte carlo slots

The other place Ive won 3 times at with slots is the ugly Excalibur hotel and casino LOL. Yes, its dim and not so pretty but their slots are looser than a vegas hooker!

NYNY is a cool place but Ive never won there, ut a gr8 place to walk around
A must is the Venetian (as far as beautiful hotels)
If you get a chance, cab it to the Old strip, If your alone and dont like confrontation, either go in the daytime or stay on the strip at night . If you want some of the seediness, lol, go at night and wander off the strip , but just a little bit. If you love seafood, the Rio is a must. If you put all the tables together in a row, the buffet is about 1/4 mile long!
The Bellagio has one of the fanciest and most delicious buffets, they have lollipop lamb chops and lobster tail on it. Its worth the money.

I did the helicopter ride at night but I was disappointed. Not in the experience but how many ppl they cram in the helicopter. If you want a unch of coupons i think "lasvegas.com has a bunch of stuff on there

Excalibur is brilliant - look for Super Jackpot Party. I went a couple of years ago and they only had a few machines - very good bonus rounds, for a $1 spin you can take well over $150+ from a good bonus round.

If you can, go and see the Blue Man Group at the Venetian - cost me $210 for a front row seat and worth every penny!
