Easter good fortune boosts 53 year old Ontario woman's bank balance by almost Cdn$ 9 million

The Easter bunny brought a Toronto area woman and her family the treat of a lifetime over the Easter weekend, when she discovered she had won close to Cdn$ 9 million on a progressive at [land] Casino Rama.

Anna Falco (53) of Woodbridge, Ontario had been playing the popular Megabucks Wide Area Progressive slot machines for close to an hour when to her astonishment she hit the record setting Canadian slot jackpot of Cdn$ 8 920 622.89.

Quickly surrounded by excited patrons on the busy Casino floor, many of whom had their hands in the air mimicking Rama's popular television ads, Anna, with tears welling in her eyes and a lump in her throat, turned shock into joy as her husband arrived to celebrate with her.

"This is almost more Big Time Excitement that I can handle", she said. "When we called our two daughters to share the good news, they thought we were kidding. One even called back to make sure we were serious!" Anna and her husband, Franco, plan to share the money with family and friends.

The record-breaking win marks the fourth time the Megabucks jackpot has been won at Casino Rama, a Toronto woman won over Cdn$1.8 million on December 23rd, 2002, a local Orillia woman won over Cdn$2.1 million on February 4th, 2005 and a Sudbury man won Cdn$1.2 million in July of 2005.

I have no idea how the casino payout works in Ontario, but I do know if she had won it at our casino, it would be a flat out payment.
They wouldn't have to worry about paying me because with a win like that I'd have a coronary
