Hi Mush, I have never stayed at the Grand as I have always prefered The Horseshoe and the nice treatment I get there. In November, when Laurie and hubby Jim joined me in Tunny for a w-e, Laurie et ux did stay at the Grand and Laurie said they comped the rooms when she mentioned she had come to Tunica to support me in a BJ tourney at the Shoe. Laurie never mentioned anything negative to me about their stay at the Grand so I assume it was grand,lol!.......Also the local Nashville Harrah's junkets are all to the Grand so I believe it is considered enjoyable for a w-e trip but since I am impulsive and have stayed in Tunny as long as 21 days (fine for Vegas but I should have been commited for a 21 day stay in Tunny), I prefer The Shoe as I usually get the same exact apartment style suite on my crazy adventures.....Hope it all works out for both you and Laurie. Sorry, I could not help more and still not even sure if my contact ever called Laurie back!

Ya'll are making me so sick!! Wish I was going with. I've stayed at the Grand twice, once at the casino and once at, I believe, the Grand Veranda. Both excellent. The hotel at the casino is a little older, of course, than the Veranda and the Veranda is very nice. Shuttle service was great as well as hotel service. For the life of me, I can't see staying 21 day at Tunica but 2-3isn't bad.

Hope you all have a great time and lots of luck.

we actually DID end up going on saturday. i'm sorry you guys didn't get to go. we ended up staying at sam's town b/c by the time we finally decided to go, there were only rooms there and at the grand. i was actually online making reservations with the grand when i came to my senses and decided the $300+ we would save for 2 nights by staying at sam's town meant.........sam's town here we come!!!!!

i've never even been inside sam's town in tunica before this weekend, so i wasn't really sure what to expect, but when i am going to a casino i would choose a larger bankroll over 4 star lodging any day. don't get me wrong, i would prefer to have both, but when i know i'm going to be in the room a few hours of those 2 days anyway and i am asleep pretty much all of those hours i can live w/o turndown service.

i'm exhausted right now, so i'm not going to recap our whole trip tonight, but i plan to share the highlights b/c we had such a roller-coaster ride..........all ended well, so its a good story. for a tease................we checked in, headed to the room and i was back down in the casino w/in about 15 min.............i had $40 in my pocket, so i decided to sit down to play before i went to the atm, with hopes of not having to go at all!!! since i had never been before, i wanted to walk around and see everything, but i wanted a drink more, so i sat down at a machine right in the main walkway to enter the casino hoping to get a drink quickly and keep walking. the machine i sat down at was called wild times (i think, but i had never played it before). it had 3 reels with a bonus feature that gave you a chance of winning 2x-25x your bet. anyway, i was not expecting to win anything on my first machine and i was pre-occupied with finding a waitress, so i'm sure everyone can understand my surprise when on my 2nd spin i hit the bonus feature giving me a $350 win on a $.75 bet!!!!!!! to be continued.....

the only thing I really hate about Sams Town is most of the rooms there are in Eastern Arkansas, really long walk from the casino

When we stayed at Sam's in Dec. I was pleasantly surprised to find we had one of the 'new' comfy beds. Up until that time they'd always had those ol' hard hotel beds that hurt come morning. I love Sam's. Never have to pay for room or food -- and now they have comfy beds -- that's all I need. Of course it wouldn't hurt if I could hit a RF next trip....

Brianzz... not all rooms at Sam's are on the outer edge of the galaxy.

The Cat: Oh, you can't help that. We're all mad here. I'm mad. You're mad.
