Anyone here ever played poker on Poker-Pro tables? At any land based casino
Anyone here ever played poker on Poker-Pro tables?
The Mohegan Sun Casino has tables that are from Poker-Pro It has no dealers just the players. It's funny how land based casinos are going this way in poker. I just hope Foxwoods don't It just looks fake at a land based casino. Looks like your playing online. In this case I should stay home and play. When I go to a real casino I just like to see real cards & real dealers. The only thing is it saves the casino No overhead.Dealers that have no jobs

I play these machines whenever I go on Carnival Cruise Lines for a vacation. I agree that it's just like playing online and really takes away that casino experience feel. That is why I dont think these machines will ever become the norm for most casinos. Simply because patrons and where they gamble with their money will be the final say.

These machines give the house a big advantage over dealer games. Not only are they faster but they don't have to pay them either although there is a lease through Pokertek. As a player there are advantages too. If you are a winning player it is more hands, it saves you tips for the dealer and saves the headaches or cards getting bent or damaged. I doubt they will take off in most jurisdictions where live dealers are allowed. I would imagine these machines have places like cruise ships, race tracks and lousy casinos like Harrah's Cherokee that can't have real cards in mind.

I know these tables are very popular at Resorts in Tunica, MS. I think they were on the approved list for NJ last time I saw one for that game.

Rumor has it that they are planning on adding a poker room at Trump Plaza with these machines.

Investors have been unimpressed by their business lately. PTEK is at an all time low, lost $12,500,000 in the last 12 months on $3,500,000 in revenue and doesn't have enough cash left to go on another year this way. Something has to give. At least they aren't in debt.

What happened with the smoking ban in Atlantic City?
I wish Cherokee would have these machines. Any poker is better than no poker (especially when the alternative is playing the tighter than a tick slots).

I can only speak for Bally's, the Borgata, Caesars and Wild Wild West, but those casinos only have a handful of smoking pits that you can play in....luckily they cover all games, so smokers aren't shut out 100%. IIRC, you can still smoke in the high-limit areas. The last time I was at Caesars, the only BJ pit you could smoke in was at a $50 table. Ballys used to have the only poker room you could smoke in, but since the ban, they don't allow smoking anymore.
