That's ok I know what your saying.
Cigs in Ct are very high.
But at times we drive to NH and get everything we need.
We make the trip worth the drive that's for sure.
All I can say is don't Vote for the jerks that love this tax tav tax.We need new blood in the house.
But remember the job offer will be around if you like.Mass is Hot for business.
I always look for people to get this rolling from any area.
Thanks
Tom

We haven't quite reached the same price for cigarettes as New York, however, we now have these lovely "Fire Safe Cigarettes" which burn weird and taste like crap. They should drop the price of them since they're "safer".

From a different thread today.....

Thought I might give the casinos a head start in trying to keep players loyalties by letting them know that the House Committee to Vote on Suspending Internet Gambling Ban tomorrow!

Hopefully, It looks like it is a go and if it is...there will be a lot of scrambling to get the US back into the "groove" of online gambling...

So how do these two work? Would Massachusetts have their own rules or would they have to follow the House Committee?

There are federal laws and state laws.

If the feds impose a law, it applies everywhere.

If the states impose laws, they are only valid in that state.

States have the liberty to create their own laws. The feds rarely take exception with that.

The Massachusetts issue has been ongoing since early this year, when Governor Deval Patrick proposed a bill to boost state tax revenues by introducing three land casinos to the state.

In the process the Governor included a deeply buried clause that imposed a ban on Internet gambling in the state, a tactic that has been interpreted as an attempt to protect the (land) interests of his new casinos. (please see Casinomeister News section).

Not everyone in the Massachusetts House was happy about the introduction of three big casinos and a bitter political battle developed between the leader of the House and his supporters and the Governor and his followers. When it came to the vote, the proposal was rejected.

Since then Governor Patrick has intimated that he may try to revive the bill....or negotiate a different deal with a Massachusetts tribe that wants to open a land casino (there are different approval structures for tribal casinos)

The latter option looks like his current objective, but the influence of major Vegas gambling interests who were keen on providing the original casinos remains high, and they have already invested significantly in research and planning projects.
