    Tunica Mississippi

I have been to Tunica several times. I like Sams Town, but have played poker at Hollywood with good results.

They have several more but I have not made it past these 2 yet.

Still asking myself how I spent 21 days in July in Tunica. I guess trying to find my ass which is still missing, lol. If anyone locates it, please kick it...... Your best bets in Tunica are Harrah's Horseshoe and MGM's Goldstrike although the crowds and riff raff are unbearable at times.(I did checkout Sam's for the first time for a few hours and the employees were nice but I have no desire to go back)......Tunica's casinos are really just gambling joints and convenient for those within reasonable traveling distances. I would never recommend Tunica as a vacation destination for those who are not within a reasonable traveling distance unless a trip to Graceland tickles your fancy as it is within about 45 minutes.,,,,Really not much to do in Tunica(although they try with some decent entertainment like Meatloaf this past w-e,one decent golf course and a few decent restaurants but that is about it other than I like to chase cocktail waitresses for exercise,)............a few days is probably enjoyable for most and I probably should be involuntarily committed for just having said the above then actually somehow spending 21 days straight in the cottonfields of Tunica,

as ive always said sams town is my fav, but horseshoes and goldstrike are the best to play at if you want to relax and maybe win some. i also like hollywood casino. i dont care that much for the grand , the golf course i hear is great and it is by far the largest casino in tunica but you never seem to get that comfy feeling playing there.i agree with nash, a 3 or 4 day stay is nice but anything over is a waste of time unless you wanna do the memphis thing which i highly recomend, graceland, beal street, and the civil rights tours about rev.m.l. king alot to do in that area .

Post News: Tunica Airport receives $6.1M

Tunica Airport receives $6.1M from federal government

    Memphis Business Journal - August 29, 2007

Federal funding totaling more than $6.1 million has been approved for use at Tunica Municipal Airport in Mississippi.

U.S. Senator Trent Lott, who serves as ranking member of the Senate's Aviation Subcommittee, said the grant will be administered through the U.S. Department of Transportation and Federal Aviation Administration.

The money will go toward extending the runway and taxiway at the airport. Airport officials are planning a 1,500-foot runway extension, as well as a 35-foot taxiway extension.

"This is an important facility that serves Tunica and the greater Memphis area in a variety of ways, and we'll continue working to ensure that Tunica's airport is equipped to handle a broad array of aircraft," Lott said in a statement.

Tunica Airport is still seeking a new carrier to provide scheduled air service after Pan Am Clipper Connection pulled the plug in October 2006.

ummm.... how about... "Oink!" LOL The casinos really do need that airport, though. Much more convenient for players than Memphis. Too bad they don't have an airline that will use it!

True 10 minutes versus 45 to an hour to MEM plus no security hassle and get to the airport a hour before deals so it saves a good 2 hours of travel time. Yet, TUNICA INTERNATIONAL is like a SHELL gas station,literally........a few charters and some private flights is all the traffic it gets...........not sure where the money will really go??????????????maybe another Starbucks,LOL
