Most Haunted Luxor, people see ghosts on the upper floors frequently[/QUOTE

OMG - thanks for that bit of info!! Now I know where I will NOT be going! Some of my coworkers are going to a conference in LV in a few weeks and I'm going to pass on suggestions to them.

    It's wierd

I know it sound funny but there was a special of the most haunted hotels and there is tons of testimony from people saying they heard people milling about the hallways!

Ill look for the link and edit this if I find itThe only ghost known to appear so far at the Luxor is that of an unfortunate construction worker who died while building the 400 foot pyramid. Several other construction workers were injured in accidents during the construction. Many of the workers refused to work at the site at all!

The Luxor is not only haunted, it’s also said to be cursed. The shape of a pyramid is said to contain secret properties and powers. Some believe that the Luxor will continue to be cursed until an artificial eye is placed on the capstone of the pyramid, thus changing the esoteric properties of the pyramid.

Here's another for Bally'sOn November 21, 1980, the second largest hotel fire in United States history (in terms of lives lost) broke out. Eighty-four people died in this horrifying and tragic event, and 679 were injured. The MGM was a glamorous and luxurious hotel/casino that stood at the corner of Flamingo and Las Vegas Boulevard, where Bally’s now stands. The old MGM burned to the ground on that fateful day in history. (The new MGM is further south.)

Soon after the fire, Bally’s bought the property where 84 people died in panic—some guests threw themselves out the windows to their deaths when rescue ladders could not reach their floor in time—and it seems that these spirits have not left the location of their terrible demise.

On most accounts, it seems that the ghosts are mainly sighted on the higher floors (19 through 24). Guests and employees alike report seeing ghostly figures in the North Tower. Former employees of Bally’s also report that a service elevator in the North Tower of Bally’s is avoided at all costs after room service employees were killed in it.

Besides the death of the construction worker, there certainly are other reasons to believe the truth of the “Luxor Curse”: shortly after the pyramid was completed, the Vegas World Sky Tower casino (now called the Stratosphere) mysteriously caught on fire and suffered terrible damage. Is it a coincidence? Maybe….maybe not!

The hidden influence of the pyramid may have been the cause of several other terrible, fatal incidences as well: I say the only ghost known to appear “so far” at the Luxor is that of the construction worker. It remains to be seen whether the lost souls of the many people who jumped to their deaths (for seemingly no reason at all) from the inside balconies of the pyramid will show up to haunt this magnetic location.

pyramid power = myth busted c/o savage and hyneman. well, their underlings actually. kari byron, hot or not? personally, i think she's pretty, but not curvaceous enough for my liking. and ghosts = bullshit c/o penn and teller. the mind is a powerful and wild thing; it makes us see ghosts and have nightmares and observe optical illusions, but it dies along with our physical bodies.

other than being haunted, is luxor a good casino/hotel? definitely a cool theme. hey anyone see that episode of criss angel mindfreak where he floats himself up to the top of the luxor and you see the light shining all around him?

Luxor is great... you can get $39 rooms midweek off season with no comps, just check the hotel calendar, the rooms in the tower are sweet, neckdeep bathtub, seperate shower, nicely accuttered. You can take the ell as far as nyny (Ithink, usually just walk) mandaly, luxor, excalibar maybe circus circus are all interconnected so you never have to go outside if you don't want to. tons of shops and good eats, especially at mandaly bay.

The good news? Chris signed like a ten year contract with the luxor a couple of months ago starting in summer '08 I think. Definitely will see that show

Best and worst is a tough one Babs...

    Best Vegas for me:
Favorite Hotel: I like Mandalay and luxor becasue they are nice, and at the far end of the strip. We walk up one side and down the other or up one side to about the venetian and catch a cab downtown. When you hail a cab from the venetian, you get excellent service.

    Prettiest: Venetian Agreed

Best seafood: RioGrande Agreed, the Village seafood buffet is worth the (sometimes 2 hour) line wait

Classiest Buffet: Bellagio... haven't tried the bellagio, but I bet you're right!

most disappointment: some of the stupid stuff at luxor

    Coolest pools: Mandalay Bay agreed

Poppin Casino for gaming (meaning alot of hubbub) Alladin in my experience, drunk college chicks, piano bar, lots of hoopin and hollerin on the floors...loudest
    Coolest Mall: Mandalay for me

Experience: el cortez, fitzgeralds, four queens

    Just an FYI :)

The Tram is cool. It goes from Mandalay Bay to the Excalibur. Circus Circus is way down the other side of the strip. So it covers: Mandalay Bay, Luxor, Excalibur

Now, there is another Tram that isnt free and that covers Either NYNY or Monte Carlo all the way to the Bellagio. This could have changed. I havnt been there in 2 years

Has anyone noticed how nice Mandalay Bay smells? In a good way LOL. It smells like your on the beach with tanning lotion on. They use that air freshener that goes through the vents. I like it!

Luxor has awesome gelati!! Oh and another one , Excalibur (I think its that one) gives out free fresh hot krispy kremes when they come out of the oven
There is also a wonderful chocolatier in the Luxor!! OMG, the food they have! Im just not impressed with the Pharohs buffet though

Can you tell Im a foodie? lol.......Also, If you want the best seafood in the USA....go to the restaurant called Daniel Boulud(im spelling his name wrong) at the Wynn ,anyway, this guy goes as far as paying the lobster guys in Maine to pick the best lobsters each day and fedexing them. He even pays their medical bills. The guys pick the best of the best and gives them to this woman who purchases his lobsters for him and sends them everyday!! The people in Maine dont even get them because he pays so much!!

You're right... what the hell was I thinking?? Maybe the CC in Reno is connected to the Silver Legacy? It's all a blur

That chocolate at Luxor... kind of in the center of an area, next to a keno section and hotdog stand? Time to go back, I'm forgetting everything. I think I'm going to mainstreet station this time... heard good things and it looks cool (no pool but you can use the california's)
