Florida Indian Casino

I just wanted to warn anyone that may be going to SW Florida. My dad lives in Bonita Springs and I wanted to see the Indian Casino

I went to Immokolee(sp). I don't trust this casino. Some friends warned me about it but I like to judge for myself just incase they were sore losers

This is what bothered me: I went to play 7 card stud (a real table) The thing is not alot of people are there for poker, mostly for slots. They put your name on a list and when they get enough people they call you (which is standard in AC as well)

They called my name and I sat down only to find 3 of the players were also the dealers/employees of this casino. I was leary and my gut feelings were right. The employees won EVERY hand. I left after I unusually fast lost $25

I dont know about other Indian casinos but if an A.C. or Vegas casino tried to pull this crap, they would be fired immediatley.

In closing, if your in Bonita Springs or that area and want to play poker, go to the dog track on Bonita Springs Blvd one mile down from the intersection of Rte 41 and Bonita Springs Blvd Intersection

news: Seminole Gambling Pact

Seminole Gambling Pact Taking Shape
posted by John Kennedy on Sep 7, 2007 6:44:32 PM

The Seminole Tribe has sent Gov. Charlie Crist several drafts of a proposed agreement allowing slot machines and some Las Vegas-style table games at the seven Seminole casinos already open in Florida.

The move would be a dramatic expansion of gambling in Florida -- although the tribe would be prohibited from opening new casino sites elsewhere in the state. The nearest location to the Orlando-area and its gambling wary theme parks is Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Tampa.

Barred in the proposals would be roulette and craps. But most other table games would be okayed. In exchange, the state would receive a still-to-be-determined, annual amount of money. A Crist spokesman said the governor's chief-of-staff, George LeMieux, forecasts that a deal may be reached with the tribe within two weeks.

But state lawmakers are still expected to be asked to endorse the new compact -- which remains not a sure bet. Take a look here at one example of what's on the table.
